Huckabee is Running for Vice President
He did just win W.Va, but knows, as does everyone else, that he has zero chance for the prez nomination.

Huck Finn is going for the Veep, on the McCain ticket. That way he - as both Huck and Johnny Boots will reason - can give a conservative hue to the ticket, and perhaps tone down the barking dogs on right wing radio.

    Watch it happen.

I think their ideology is just too far apart. If McCain were really a conservative at all then he might consider it, but he told the right to go **** themselves a long time ago and he has no need to court those voters. He's trying to take his piece right out of the middle.

In all his recent ads he's been repeating: "I'm a conservative."

He isn't, but needs those core GOP voters to give him even a slim chance for election in November.

You think he won't get GOP votes when McCain is opposed by Obama or Clinton?! In most elections I would say you are right in that they would stay home, but that is another problem the left has by running one of these two candidates. GOP voters will not stay home when it comes to voting against either of them even if that vote has to be cast for McCain.

Exactly. Hillary or Obama may still win, sometimes this country just won't stand for anything but kicking the guy in office and his friggin' party right out the door. But the vast majority of the elephants that are criticizing any of the Republican candidates right now will turn out in droves to keep either of the donkey candidates out.

I dont like any of GOP guys, but as WB said us elephants will turn out and support our party whether we like the candidates or not. For me its not about being a women or black, but Hillary and Obama are both so anti gun it scares me. Im just not ready for federal agents coming to my house to confiscate my weapons, and IMO that is a possibility if either of them are elected.

                    Nah.

I own a few guns (but only one functional, Brazilian-made .38 special) and I have no worries.

No way a liberal Democrat is going to go Draconian re more gun laws. It's how thing go in the USA nowadays - the Law of Reversed Expectations.

It used to be Democrats getting the US in global conflicts - Wilson (WWI). Roosevelt (WWII), Truman (Korea), JFK And L. Johnson (Vietnam)

But in the new era the part that used to end wars now initiate them, ie both Bushes (Iraq).

Same with guns. A McCain is much more likely to push "reasonable" gun control legislation, probably after at attempt is made on a top-ranked politiician or a "beloved" public figure.

Because the right-leaning sheep will much more trust "one of our own" than they will the bitch or the black.

As I understand it, in West Va McCain released his delegates and told them to switch to Huck Finn.

Of course, that was to damage the Mormon, but tho Huck may be a True Believer not even he believes that he has a ball's chance in hell of getting the nomination.

He's hoping Johnny Boots will point at him for veep, to get right on the Right, and pacify Rush, Sean, Ann et al. All of whom also oppose any gun control legislation, LOL

Not only am I sure that Huck Finn will be Johnny Boots' running mate, but ---------duh dum: I think it's already a done deal.

Johnny and Huck have been very gentle with each other, even now with Huck winning some Bible Belt states (he won't win in the West).

I strongly believe they've already cut the deal. Their collaboration in West Va was a bellwether. Huck acted as the absent Johnny Boots' stalking horse, and took the Mormom down.

Even if a deal has not yet been done - and in this dirty poliitical game I feel sure it has been - Huck, winning a few more states, esp in what Mencken called The Sahara of the Bozart, now holds the Veep cards.

He can simply say to Johnny B at the convention: "Hey, Bootsie, I'm your running mate. If you don't think so, how would you like to see me run on a third party ticket, and take the vital South away from you?"

Johnny Mick COULD NOT RESIST THAT. But I don't think he has to: the deal's been done: BOOTS AND BIBLE IN -'08.

Too bad no book is booking this, I'd be all over it like a cheap suit.
