    Question: Superbowl commercials
I'm sure most people know or hear about how much commercial time is during the Superbowl every year. What i don't understand is how i was seeing commercial for local hospitals, local/regional banks, a local ambulance chasing attorney, a car dealership, a tire center , and a couple others i can't think of right now. these commercials were during halftime or in the 3rd Q. i don't understand how they could afford that.

We had a few locals....Im sure they did not pay the multi millions but Im also sure it was not cheap.............The commercials were sub par this year.....I kind of liked the one where the horse trained with the dog to make the team....and there were a few other funnies but not as good as usual.

yeah that must be it, cause i know that little mom-n-pop tire center here in town doesn't have that kind of money, but the spot was only about 10 seconds though, but others were 30 sec. to a minute.

Local cable companies must have cashed in on local ads. I agree Coke was funny.

              Congrats Charlie Brown!

Here is what i don't understand. . . There all a waste of money if your already an established.successful company. Bud dropped millions on commercials for no reason. Its going to get people to drink more bud. Beer drinkers already have a preference and they are well aware of bud beer. Just makes no sense to me. No a Company like go daddy, the super bowl scene has done wonders to get their name out there.

Its a huge write off for these companies that need it, plus people like us talk about the adds for a few weeks so the next time you go to pick up a six pack or are at the store picking up soda you think about which one to buy....

I was surprised not to see one pepsi add, they usually have pretty good ones....

When I was selling 18 wheeler trucks for Volvo they used to put an add in the superbowl and the numbers were staggering as to how much buzz they made off that one add, on top of that it is the most watched tv program of every year so why not spend the money and get your name out there and talked aobut for a few extra weeks and then be able to write it off...not a bad deal for them

i think that Justin Timberlake commercial was for pepsi.

about selling Volvo big trucks, i used to work for American Freightway part time before FedEx bought them, i was surprised that they used Volvo for their trucks, most other LTL trucking companies around here used Mack, Freightliner, International, etc.
