    THE M SPORTSBOOK.........bad news?
Penn National Gaming said it purchased all of Las Vegas casino M Resort's debt from Bank of Scotland for $230.5 million.
Penn National said in a statement that its acquisition from the unit of Lloyds Banking Group included about $70.5 million in bank debt and another $160 million in subordinated debt formerly held by MGM Resorts International.
The M Resort Spa Casino, which opened in March 2009, has struggled since opening, but Penn National said it hopes to turn that around.

The book was actually profitable so it will be interesting to see if Penn makes any changes to it. What a bargain for Penn. Next purchase for them will be either Rio or Cosmopolitan.

        i like the m resort
why would being associated with penn national (a class operation imho) be bad news?

only thing they ever screwed me on:
about 10 years ago at hollywood casino in aurora illinois, i set down my $200 sunglasses in their case next to a machine. went back within 3 minutes and they were gone. i know one of the workers that was cleaning stole them but they refused to look at the tapes. i asked "so you can investigate if i steal from you but not if you steal from me?" and they pretty much said yes.

deutsche bank is a willing seller. property is in prime location, but has a horrible management team in place right now. someone else will own it within 12 months of opening.

do you play at the m often? originally they used to have more full-pay video poker machines?

i like that they have self-service soda machines so you don't have to wait forever/tip a waitress

Just visited for the first time this summer......but will be moving close to there in a few months.

No full-pay video poker there now.

Yes....ICEMAN, WAZ, BOBBYFK, and myself enjoyed the frees sodas as we discussed the gaming climate in Vegas.

Penn Gaming knows how to run things
                      They will be fine

Penn Gaming should run everything in the world as far as gambling

Have heard from a reliable source that there will be very few changes in terms of operations and management at the M, INCLUDING the Sportsbook.

The M continues to be THE most popular resort/casino among locals.

The M is well known for it's technological innovations in the casino as well as their hotel rooms. It is a nice place, but the locals prefer Red Rock for its Player Rewards, restaurants and girls.

Red Rock is big with the folks in Summerlin, but the Henderson folks prefer the M. Obviously location is a factor.

Certainly two of the nicer resorts in Vegas.

I rarely set foot on the strip anymore.

100% True. Guys like Richkas look like sharp gamblers compared to most drones that you see walking around Vegas.
