I'd love to play everyday, I'd play for 25k a year. I'd love to give back to the children at childrens hospital and bring smiles to their faces. I'd do a tour in Afghanistan if I could come home to that career. I should have kept at it 100% br there with my boys Booth, Henny, Hunner, Gleason, Etc.
I wish more than anything to be in the NHL...

#2keep dreaming.. do you know that hockey players are by far the best condtioned athletes in the world. have you ever seen a hockey player in person. you will faint.. 6'3, 220 lbs of pure muscle. not 1 inch of body fat.. NONE. they are built like trees.
here is how hockey players live each day of their life. NO JOKE. everyday.
wake up at 6am.. big breakfast in hotel lobby.. only fruit.
8 am they head to rink for a 9 to 12 very intense morning skate.. and i mean intense. skate up and down hard for 3 hrs
12-1 pm.. they go on bike and lift weights after skate
130 pm back at hotel.. they sleep till 330 pm.. NO FOOD yet.
4-430pm, they eat.. and no junk.. NEVER.. only pasta, veggies, etc.. and protein.. nothing greasy ever. no mcd's ever.. etc..
530pm at the rink.. they go on bike, do weights..
630 pm- they hit the ice for warm up
7-10pm.. game on..
10-11pm.. in the dressing room 1 hr on bike, treadmill, weights, etc.
12 am.. they are at hotel sleeping ready for next day..
Each day is like this i swear.. Deuce, you cant do this.. you sit and post all day at sbr. being a hockey player is hard fukkin work.. they earn their salaries..Comment -

#5jrod, here after the habs games when they interview players after game in dressing room, most are sweating it up on their bike for 1 hr more. these guys don't stop.. they are machines.if you ever see a hockey player in a bar, you better have your camera.. it's a type of body you never see on the street, not even in a gym. they are not huge or bulky.. just solid as a tree and built so good.
there are no better bodies on a human being than a hockey player. these guys are in such great shape. try skating into the corners and digging for the puck for 23 secs and battling 2 guys.... you will puke after 12 seconds.. it's the most strenuous thing in the world.. no baseball/football player can pull this off.Comment -

#11YES.. and sometimes more.. these guys are maniacs.. when you hit that ice, if you are not in the best condition, you'll get eaten alive.
Have you noticed that hockey players are the ONLY athletes that don't have 1 inch of fat on their body. football, basketball and baseball have your fair share of fat guys.. but there hasn't been 1 NHL player to ever have 1 cm of fat.. have you noticed this??
can you guys name me 1 NHL player in the history of hockey that you can squeeze 1 inch on?? i bet you can't name one.. because you CANNOT have any fat on you if you expect to skate up and down. do you have any idea how hard it is to skate from one end of rink to the other.. you will puke your guts out if you try it and that's why you cant play hockey if you have any fat on your body.. skating is very hard.
these guys are in tremendous shape.Comment -

#15you see, of 300,000 NHL players to play the game, you can only name Wellwood.. and if you see, he's not even fat. yes, he's a bit out of shape with a very small belly, but then again, the only reason he was slightly fat was because he was injured for a long time and was inactive.
that's what happens when your body stops exercising..

#16Agreed...NHL players work out all the time. Its crazy, after Penguins games, players will go run/bike for an hour...idk how they can possibly do that after a full length game. Its ridiculous. I am exhausted after my games, i could never do that after every game.
Hell, i play hockey with guys that are FAR from the NHL...and they are built better then most football players iv seen.Comment -

Its even funnier because you are actually being serious and must be from either Montreal or Toronto.
Hockey players are slow slobs who look like average people except for a very few exceptions, pathetic all around athletes, weak and slow, can't jump, can't do shit, need skates to go fast.
When you see Ovechkin/Malkin without a shirt, you laugh these guys are considered athletes/big/in shape.Comment -

Ovechkin and Malkin are ******* rocks. Iv seen Malkin in person plenty of times...dude is fuckin huge. Idk what you consider an athlete/big/in shape...but these guys are all that and more. People just bounce off these guys when they hit them...and for you to be that big and still skate as fast and make it look as easy as these guys look...its just crazy.
Since you obviously know nothing about hockey...Ovechkin/Malkin are the football equivalent of a huge RB like Brandon Jacobs with exceptional speed.Comment -

#28Nicky, I think you have some work to do addressing those pictures by k13...Nicky, for fuk's sake, I have bigger arms than Ovy in that picture, weigh significantly less than him, and stopped working out..
Nicky, I don't know if there's serious comparing NFL to NHL players...I'm not sure some of these NHLers could compete with NFL kickers..Nicky, imagine fuking Clay Matthews with his shirt off..he would make Ovy or Malkin look like a pussy shit 14 year old.
But then somehow one of the league's best DEs (basically toughest position that requires most phyiscally stout body) over the last few years somehow looks like this...he's an anomaly though.

Size doesn't mean much when you're talking about core strength. I know that gymnasts who weigh less than 130 could bench press more than most guys, do more push ups, and run for hours. You sure wouldn't be able to tell by looking at them though.Comment -
