Why doesnt any teams throw the "early" hailmary?
1st and 10 from their own 30, 60 seconds left and down by 6 points (they have 1 timeout left). and what happens 95% of the time, they take the underneath junk for a few yards, maybe even a screen pass. and they run out of time around midfield. never taking a long shot downfield where anything can happen.........

why not max protect and send 3 recievers to the same spot in the middle of the field, take a bunch of heaves from their own 30 to the other teams 10-20 yard line. it would save so much time. and then they can have a few shots into the endzone

most good offenses can at least make it 30-40 yds in a minute with a timeout and have more realistic shots at the end zone.

Beacuse 99% of the time the hail mary doesn't work. its a last ditch effort. the Idea is to throw the 10 yard passes and hope a guys breaks a tackle and racks up 25-30 yards.

Worst case scenario is you have to throw the hail mary, its not the plan.

Exactly, it rarely works, its wasting downs, and saves the opposing team timeouts (if they have any)

State Laws prevent you from throwing them early in the game, depends what State you are playing

If SBR posters were coaches of college teams many teams would have finished the season 0-12.

Hail Mary is not the ticket to a LIKELY victory. Last chance at best.

ok yall............just watch how many teams in the scenario that im talking about even have a single shot at the end zone by doing the regular dink and dunk. if someone throws the early HM (50+ yard pass) and happen to get a catch/penalty whatever then they will have multiple shots at the endzone...........btw belichick threw the early HM in the superbowl against the giants, almost worked Brady-Moss just missed, caught the giants by suprise

I think the Pats lost that game with that strategy.

ya great point. they had about 30 seconds and no timeouts, ppl here think they should have dropped it off to faulk and had him dodge 10 tacklers

Yeah way to go to show the opposing team how good is your offense and build confidence for the opposing team's defense. Start the game with a Hail Mary and give them the ball.
