Wade should come to Detroit. We should unload Amir Johnson, Tayshaun Prince, and Brezec. Move Sheed to Center, Dyess be 6th man, and Maxiel to power forward. Wade would fit in there at small forward. Well, maybe.

I've been calling Wade overrated ever since he got his ring.
The NBA made him. There's dozens of guys in the NBA with as much talent, but the NBA wanted him to be the poster child because he's probably the only guy at his talent level without a rap sheet. Without the refs, he cannot carry a team. He could barely do it with refs and a cast of NBA hall of famers past their prime. I'm wishing him the best, because he is a Wisconsin product. But, he's the final straw for why I don't watch the NBA anymore.

Wade was the next best thing. He was the one that would make us forget about Jordan. I can't remember how many experts were saying they'd love to build a team around him as opposed to the ball-hogging Bryant. The disparity in talent between Wade and Bryant is so vast that this argument was simply absurd. As Slacker stated, Wade is low-impact if he's not allowed to carry the ball, take 3 steps, or get to the foul line 23 times per contest. Compare him to Bryant who has stayed healthy, kept his team competitive when he had very little support, and now is the centerpiece of a team poised to reclaim a spot with the elite teams of the NBA. The Lakers front office should be commended for plotting a sound course and having the balls to see it through, much to the dismay of everyone who said they were making the worst decisions any management team has ever made. Now they get to reap the rewards while Miami considers disbanding the league's most disappointing team.

That is what they are saying, watch the mavs series, and see the refs calling everything for Wade! They should have lost in 4 they got the benefit of every call in that series. When you drive to the basket, and nobody is in your way or touches you and you still get the call, come on!

Correct.
10 fts in Game 1 loss.
14 fts in Game 2 loss.
18 fts in Game 3 win.
9 fts in Game 4 blowout.
25 fts! in Game 5 win.
21 fts! in Game 6 win.
In the last 2 games of the series, Wade had as many fts as the entire Dallas team.
3 of the 4 wins by Miami in the series were decided by a total of 6 points. In those 3 wins, Wade shot 64 fts! Over 21 fts per game in very close contests.
The only series in recent NBA history where the officials had a greater impact on the eventual outcome might be the San Antonio vs Phoenix debacle.
In addition to the outrageous number of fouls called in his favor during that series, Wade was also allowed to carry the ball whenever he executed his pet move to the basket. This was what caused the Dallas defenders to be out of position and led to easy dunks or even more foul calls.
In addition to all that, the officials apparently developed blindness almost every time Wade decided to take an extra step or three.
It was simply brutal basketball to watch and the league knew it. Prior to the beginning of the next season officials were instructed on very specific points of emphasis to make sure these unfair advantages would not be exploited to the same extent they were in 2006. The Heat faded, Wade struggled, got injured, and now everything is different for Dwayne without the open space he got with a healthy Shaq and a couple of shooters.

yeah because he created those plays. Their is nobody in the NBA besides Kobe maybe at getting to the free throw line like Wade when hes healthy. He constantly would draw contact and get to the hoop. Dont say they werent fouls, I clearly remember the entire series and he was getting hacked like it was street ball. He dominated in those games dont get it twisted

I wouldnt call him overrated, he can still play well. Hes just in the worst possible situation he can be in. His team sucks and they all know it. No real help other tha Ricky Davis, and his body is still a bit worn down. I think they should just shut him down for the rest of the season and rebuild next season. If they can pick up the 1 or 2 pick, a center would really help. If not that, draft a derick rose to help wade out spreading the ball.

I understand he was getting fouled MOST of the time, but in key moments when NBA officials consistently allow teams to play more physically, they would still give him the call. This is how they won the only 3 games that were actually close contests. In addition to that, there were numerous occasions when he was simply untouched and got to the ft line.
Without the carry which he abuses more than AI, he would not have been able to get past his defender so easily which enabled him to earn even more trips to the ft line. Ultimately it isn't really an argument because the NBA essentially admitted there were inequities when they released their points of emphasis the next season, and Wade has never been on the same level since.

Anyone that wants to make an NBA game into a FT contest is not someone I want to know. Let them play the game. FTs to decide a game, much less a season championship should be considered criminal in modern sports.
