Pirates Now 15-57 On The Road Going For Modern Record
Modern Major League Baseball worst ever road record is well within their reach. The 1962 "Can't Anybody Here Play This Game" N.Y. Mets hold the record at 18-62.

They should make a "Colts Call" and pull all their starters and go for the record.

In the 2002 Draft, the Pirates had the #1 overall pick and selected Brian Bullington instead of:

Prince Fielder, Cole Hamels, B.J. Upton, Matt Cain, Nick Swisher and the list goes on...

I do really like the core of talent that they have with McCutchen, Walker, Tabata and Alvarez.

The Buccos will be contenders within the next two or three years!

They will contend when they have a decent pitching staff. Hitting wise they are ok.

Zach Duke shouldn't start for a slow-pitch beer league squad.

                  Great point.

I'm really looking forward to seeing both Taillon and Allie work their way up through the system.

They could be studs as the #1 and #2 starters.

Maholm and Duke are both underachievers that never lived up to their potential. Disappointing is an understatement...

                    J. Mac became the Pirates best pitcher once he was traded to the team.

Isn't Charlie Morton going for some kind of record too? Something about worst ERA with a certain # of starts? I'll have to try to look it up.

                            Good post, Proffett.

It's absolutely sickening, looking back in hindsight, the current MLB players that the Pirates passed over in recent drafts.

Haven't you been paying attention? As soon as any of these players get good enough so that you have to pay them a few million every year, they'll be traded for other youngsters. It's terrible that management is content to finish last year as long as it makes money. And the worst decision made by the team over the last five years was to say no when Mark Cuban, who grew up in the area, expressed an interest in buying the team; love him or hate him, at least he'd try to put a winning team on the field.
