Fed didn't even win his first Slam until he was 24.
Nice to see you finally jumped off the Soderling bandwagon JJ.

I love when I see people banking on the fact that his knees are going to be the end of him.
Considering his knees were thought to be 'shot' last year and now he's poised to win all the Slams in a year on surfaces that he's apparently weak on, I'd think him and his medical team are finding decent ways to circumvent the knee issue. As I said in another thread, compare what he's accomplished at this age to Fed and Sampras. He's smoked them both. Unless he develops a major crack problem or goes off the rails in some other way, I'd invest a bit of money on this guy dominating for quite awhile to come considering the level of competition he's had to face in order to win all of his Slams.

Uhhh...no one is saying his knees will fail him this year or next...but they won't last him into his late 20's Einstein.

I like Sampras... because I've had a few women tell me that I look like him AND he gets hot women. On a side note... here's my impression of John McEnroe on his Wedding night... "IT WAS IN!!! IT WAS IN!!! HOW COULD YOU NOT TELL THAT IT WAS IN!! IT WAS CLEARLY IN!!!"

Once Nadal becomes the first to win the annual grand slam in melbourne next year their cannot be any debate against him being GOAT at the end of his career.

There is no question in my mind that a 25 year old federer would easily beat a 24 year old nadal on a hard court. Your right there has never been an athlete like Nadal. Nadal is clearly th ebest in the world right now but he is getting too much credit for winning this U.S. Open although it is well deserved.
who did he play? Gabashville, someone else, Lopez, a tired Verdasco, a tired Youzhny. Djokovic was his only real challenge the whole tournament.

Nadal hit steroids before, he use to be very skinny and then got this crazy figure out of no where.
I like nadal but fed is clean and if you look at him he is natural.

Did anyone have a doubt whatsoever he wouldn't take his first U.S Open today. Not me. I hammered Nadal for the win. Also made a bet on the match to go over 3.5 sets. Covered my payout I recieved today. Eazy $$$ was the match.

jjgold what are you on about man. Nadal has a different playing style to Federer. The way nadal plays at the moment is awesome, but it's definately something age kills.
just wait in a few years time his skill will drop immensely. federer has only done well due to his graceful style of plying whereas nadal is hardcore fitness.

Yes I have noticed him grow into a different physique last year or so. He wasn't so muscular and solid before. Hopefully he is just on a good program and it's all natural. Always makes you wonder nowadays when you see an athlete grow like this so quickly.

Nadal is lighter this year, his speed has improved but he still has the strength.
That means he's less injury prone than he was.

c'mon remember there is a guy named delpotro?
he will comeback next year and knock rafa out whenever they meet. Rafa won the US open cos he didn't face one big serve-big hit guy. Berdych got out early, soda wasn;t in his half and delpotro didn't play.
Delpotro will be the new number one next season.
