big respect to Durant. I think he is N3 in NBA now, and he has big future. If it wasnt him rest of USA is C team, except Billups maybe. Rose, Iguadala played very poor tournament.

He is providing crucial offense, but the other players are helping significantly also.. And remember, he is the only superstar on the team so the team will rise and fall with him essentially.. But lets give all those players credit, not just the beast that is Durant...

Durant will surpass Kobe in the sense that he will be better than him in the next year or so. Which would make sense because Durant is getting better and Kobe is getting older and playing through too many injuries (not smart). But I don't think he will ever be as good as Kobe. And I don't know if he will get as many rings as Kobe either. Unless you are on a really realy good team (80's Lakers), named Michael Jordan, or on a good team and played 3 years with a dominant Shaq, it's hard to get that many rings....

Why can't we just say Durant is a beast/great player and leave it at that??
Why must people start saying he is the next Kobe, the next Jordan, the best player in the league????? FYI, you can still be a great player and not be Jordan. You can still be a great player and not be the best in the league. I know some people are in the business of giving credit to players before they earn it (like "King" James, wtf??) but lets not crown him yet based soley on last year. This isn't a shot at everyone, just those who always make bold/ridiculous statements based on recent performances....
