The Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat must replay the
final 51.9 seconds of their game last month. This will be the first time since 1982 the league has sent
teams back on the court for a replay.

There is a unique bad beat... Miami might get the win but bettors who took the Heat straight up take the loss.

It shouldn't matter for wagering purposes.

Well in Vegas it won't matter, because the tickets have been paid.
But in the Offshore world, where they control your balance, things will be interesting on how they handle this one.

One of the dumbest things I've ever heard of in sports. With all the mistakes by officials why single this one out? What kind of precedence does this set?

This has nothing to do with the refs. It's punishing the home team for taking advantage of the scorekeepers which are provided by them. I'm pretty sure this happened before with Hawks scorekeepers and after being warned several times they had to take action this time to set a precedent.

I was just going to post this thread, this is INSANE. . . I can't believe I am the only one FREAKIN OUT over this. . . what kind a precedent could this set for the rest of sports? . . . Imagine all those teams that get that apology later on in the week, after the league admits they messed up, costing a team the game. . . Crazy thing I have read in a long time. . . I don't think people are appreciating this occurance enough!

miami is replaying last 57 seconds of OT?
they said shaq was foulled out but he only had 5 fouls. so they're replaying the last 57 seconds. wondering if there is a prop bet on that.
i am guessing the graded wagers of that game was offical.

Well said, pavy. Completely correct on all accounts.
There will be no regrading of the game by any books, but you can be sure they will offer action on the replay.

Bill,
Is this situation addressed by any online sportsbook's rules and regs? I would assume that, unless there is a rule, most folks are not in any danger?
