    Free Money?
    Ok, at Matchbook...

Earlier in the week I could of took Jacksonville ML (-110) at the open. Now, I can take Pittsburgh ML (+139).

    So...
    Jacksonville ML (-110) --- $55.00 to win $50.00
    Pittsburgh ML (+139) --- $39.57 to win $55.00

    Scenarios

    Jacksonville wins
    Risked bets: $55.00 + $39.57 = $94.57
    Winnings + Risked Back: $55.00 + $50.00 = $105.00
    Profit: $105.00 - $94.57 = $10.43

    Pittsburgh wins
    Risked bets: $55.00 + $39.57 = $94.57
    Winnings + Risked Back: $39.57 + $55.00 = $94.57
    Profit: $94.57 - $94.57 = $0.00

    Tie
    Risked bets: $55.00 + $39.57 = $94.57
    Winnings + Risked Back: $0.00
    Profit: $0.00 - $94.57 = -$94.57

So basically, since I am leaning towards Jacksonville, if Jacksonville wins, I win and if Pittsburgh wins, I come out even. The only way you lose is if there is a tie which is that even possible in the playoffs? Is this system illegal to sportsbooks? Also, I'm sure you can tweak this system to win a little if either side wins.

I'm sure you can use this in other sports too that cannot or rarely tie.

***I have not tried this yet on any sportsbook, I am not even registered to Matchbook yet.***

Also, I'm sure something like this has come up before and others have thought of stuff like this. Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are.

If you find it at different sportsbooks it's knowing as scalping or arbing. If you bought in at Matchbook then clear out of it (as in your situation) it would be considered trading. Matchbook being an exchange doesn't care what you do.

        This is called arbitrage.

IMO, It's only worth it if you can lock in a profit on both sides.

Here, if Pitt won, you wouldn't win anything, but you wouldn't lose anything either.

There is no need to even consider the possibility of a tie, because it can't happen in the NFL playoffs.

Nice GL to you.... I think the easiest way to get free money though is to fade all of 2Pac's plays

Yes, I know you would be able to tweak it to win about $5 on each side.

And I take it arbitrage and scalping is illegal? But not to Matchbook?

It's not illegal, you are doing it at two different books. People do this daily. Personally leave what you have and don't fool with it, you have a winner. You bet it for a reason, so why change it now.

Sportsbooks don't like scalpers, but you will be fine at top books. Matchbook is an exchange they get their 2% regardless.

In order to do a normal scalp, you are betting at two books at the same time against each other-- so they don't actually know you are scalping, though it's pretty easy to figure out when people bet $1,789.34 on a game what they are doing.

In this particular case, you got a good number ahead of a move. But, it could have moved the other way and then you'd lose money (assuming you have no position on this game).

Since you are leaning towards Jacksonville -- and if the true odds are in fact the current price at matchbook -140/+139 you are better of only hedging a small portion of your bet and keeping the -110 -- ganch has a spreadsheet somewhere that will calculate this for you.

But Durito no one "should" be betting 1789.34 at a sportsbook. You may as well put a clown nose on and a hat that says YES I SCALP.

                        What the **** you bastard?

Have you even seen any of my plays posted here? I've only posted 1, and it was a Montana State +290 moneyline over Oregon State, which, mind you, was a winner.
