As an historically dog player it's been custom for me to wait as late as possible, is it time for me to change this long held belief?

it has been my experience and belief in years past that dog numbers tend to rise late, often the best number was 2-5 minutes before the event began. with less and less public action it seems the opposite is now becoming true and the best numbers are often had at open.Comment -

#11Some games I bet early, when the line is obviously in my favor. But for the most part I like to wait until close to game time. There's something about the game being 'in the ether' at that time, and the wheels clicking into place.
And it helps knowing who receives the kickoff if you bet on the 1H.Comment -

#12i'm thankful to have recieved a few honest opinions, it seems apparent that unless you are in the "click" you are wasting your time asking what i thought was a worthwhile question.Comment -

#13In all honesty Teazeman you just have to have a feel on which way you believe the line will move. First of the week if it looks like everyone will be all over the dog then take as early as you can. If it looks like the hot thing is the favorite then wait as long as you can.
I bet with a local so I can only get down day of game. If I like the favorite I get down when he opens up and if I like the dog I call right before kickoff.Comment -

I was being sarcastic in my answer.
It is a good question and to be honest I think your right waiting for the most part just based on the fact that the favorites will always attract public money.
Theres always books at post popping numbers to get some buyback. As long as you have accounts at those places you are sure to find good value on your underdogs.
The only time it would work against you if there is significant sharp money on a live dog.
However, for the most part I think your still doing the right thing by waiting.Comment -

#15The answer is when your getting the most or laying the least. Timing that is another question. At pinny anyways 10 minutes before game time you'll get a lot of variance so that's when I look to try and grab a "good" number.Comment -

#20I don't think people can predict the movement of a line.
They're trying to predict the outcome of the game, and you also think they can predict what side gets has more cash on it?Comment -

#21Have not seen a game this year that the line went the opposite of what everyone here talked about.
Prdedicted line movement and who wins the game is not the same thing.Comment
