#6I'm not sure what's popular now, ever since I got my Sirius radio installed I've been hooked on Stern/talk radio.
Rap started to get commercialized too much for my liking. I like the all-time greats of it though, who are unfortunately dead. Tupac Shakur, Big L, guys like that were really talented. These guys today seem to rhyme about being in the club, being rich, they have little substance unless you include 'underground' guys like Immortal Technique.Comment -

#8It's funny.. I have heard that about rap since it offically started... Once the 90's started I heard how rap was becoming to commercialized and mainstream... Then in the late 90's I started to hear it from people who listened to 90's rap... Now of course I hear the same from this generation... It's quite interesting actually...
By the way does anyone know if you can use "free plays" at bookmaker for futures bets..?

#13Still listen to Pac, Cube, Bone Thugs, Rakim, older Jay stuff (Reasonable Doubt, Vol. 1 days) and Nas' early stuff.
The new stuff, particularly the southern crap, is horrible. The only halfway decent ** around right now is Jada.Comment -

#25I agree, rap stinks now. Every now and then a song will come out that I like. I loved rap growing up in the late 80's and 90's. I'm not talking about Young **, Bust a Move. Not that lame stuff.Comment -

#29I AM INTO 80'S HEAD-BANGING Hard Rock n roll!!!
I have always wonder how come we didn't end-up with a full blown race war at the end of the 80's.
Rap was the only way for the black community to express itself,it's anger and concern, because in the 80's in america, canada and Europe whites under the urges of the racist right wing rulers(i.e Reagan, thatcher,KHOLL)tried to "turn back the clock".I clearly remember that!!Here in Canada (and Europe) blacks where ignore for the most part and when bothered with they where condescendingly told that "they where lucky to be here and not in the states!?"
Great poets like public enemy,kool-mo-dee and Run Dmc express that reality with eloquence, talent and style witch made a lot of older whites feel very uncomfortable. But it was NWA (my favorite) witch express the anger the best by exposing the injustice of the justice system vs BLACKS in raw and unapologetic way.
Many young whites identified with that anger but for different reasons..
HOWEVER NWA was a one-off,it should as ended right there because once they started to be copied the entire genre became nothing but shit!!
What as fallowed since was a regurgitation of what NWA did over and over and over again.
Today the only people that listen to this shit are niggaz and the pathetic WINGGERS who can't find nothing better to do with themselves than imetate and identify with those ***** sack of shit on 2 legs .The stuff that blacks did in the 80's is long gone.Comment -

#30OH Snap!, I forgot all about that song. that was one of those heavy bass songs, like a bunch of stuff from florida at that time. i remember cruisin on preston(thats a local term), everyone would always be thumpin that bass stuff trying to show off their systems.Comment -

#31I agree with a lot of the other posters in that I'm white and I like guys who can play the guitar. I also like the blues a lot and watching people far more talented than I wail on their instruments. If the most popular "hiphop" artist in '07 is a guy who dubs ignorant/childish lyrics to previously hit Euro songs (Kanye West), then count me the you know what out....Comment -
