    Vegas Money Management
So I'm going out to vegas next month and wanted to maximize my small bankroll (probably 500). I'm going to bet a few games small (30 a piece) and have the most for table games.

So as I'll be playing craps, pai gow poker, black jack, craps, and poker...whats the best way to gamble. I was thinking of doing it like this:
    Hand 1; 1 unit, if I win
    Hand 2: 2 unit, if I win,
Hand 3: 3 unit, and so on. Each time i win I add a unit. However each time I lose I go back to 1 unit and win my way back up.

    What do you guys think?

I've heard of bankrolling your money like this. I think its called "progressive betting" It works well if your disciplined.

If it worked, the casinos would have been broke years ago. Just go to Vegas and enjoy it.

        Casino = entertainment.

        Entertainment is expensive.

If you win, run, but don't expect anything.

PLay in a small buy in tourney in the morning then bet and watch some games at night.

Spend another day doing table games and maybe catch a show of some sort.

thats my plan when i go. and my bankroll will be about the same asyours.

If you want a decent chance of winning, stay away from the table games...

Very few games (if any) are +EV to the casual player. Blackjack is one of the smaller -EV games with basic strategy, Video Poker with a more advanced strategy.

When I was in Vegas I only played sports, and only played those small (excepting a couple of lines that were off the online consensus and presented other opportunities).

As a rule I don't find losing money entertaining, so avoid gambling for the most part.

If your goal is just to have fun with the $500 then just use common sense to make it last. If you want to actually have a small edge in your favor, learn the strategy for full-pay deuces-wild VP (100.7%) and learn a simple blackjack count (HiLo or Knockout are super easy and good enough to get a small edge).

ViPoker is free and will teach you perfect VP strategy. VPFREE has a database of all the >100% VP games in town. Palms has a nice bank of $.25 full-pay deuces with a progressive royal. If you want more options, learn 10-7 double bonus and full-pay JokersWild.

I don't know how good your live-action poker game is, but that's obviously a great option if you're a winning player. Many options including lots of low-buyin no-limit and small tournaments that fit your budget.
