No one will remember this, but in 2008 WKU was a 17 point fav over North texas at home. Both were horrible. WKU was in the first year of FBS and only won two games vs two FCS teams. North Texas was winless. I thought no way a FCS team losses to a new FCS team. I mean, WKU was still playing with their FBS recruits. Told my friends about it and they just told me I was stupid to bet on North texas. I took the money line and the points. My best call EVER. Feels good when a 17 point dog wins and you call it.

Nothwestern vs Iowa was a good call for me last year but it just wasn't that satisfying. I mean I was happy but I felt I got lucky when the qb got hurt.

Illinois ML vs Arizona, Best college basketball game EVER

                    March 26th, 2005

                    Illinois 90
                    Arizona 89

ROSEMONT, Ill. (AP) -- Illinois made a jaw-dropping final push for the Final Four with a rally that was as electrifying as it was improbable.
"Just amazing," Illinois coach Bruce Weber said. Trailing by 15 with just four minutes to play Saturday night, the Illini then showed why they have been No. 1 for most of the season. "We just kept fighting. We never gave up," Deron Williams said "It looked like the game was over." But it wasn't. With Williams and Luther Head leading the way, Illinois went on a dazzling 20-5 run, tying it on Williams' 3-pointer, and then held on in overtime to send Arizona to a crushing 90-89 defeat Saturday night in the Chicago Regional Finals. "We've got to keep going, keep playing. I'm trying to tell my teammates out on the floor 'This game's not over,' " Williams said. "'There's still some time, we can still get it down, chip away.' We ended up getting the momentum, the crowd into it and we were able to take the game over." The Illini (36-1), who've been able to drive to their two tournament sites in Indianapolis and suburban Chicago, so far, can keep on busing to the school's first Final Four appearance since 1989. In St. Louis, they will play Louisville (33-4), which rallied from a 20-point deficit Saturday to beat West Virginia 93-85 in overtime and take the Albuquerque Regional. The last time two regional final games went into overtime in the same year was 1992 when Michigan beat Ohio State, and Duke eliminated Kentucky. Arizona (30-7) went up 75-60 with four minutes to go after an 18-6 spurt that momentarily silenced a large, orange-clad partisan crowd. The Illini stoked up their defense, incited the crowd and turned the game around. "It's heart man, it's just heart," Illinois' Dee Brown said. "The whole time I was saying 'If it was meant to be, it was meant to be.' And I guess it was meant to be that we go to the Final Four." Head hit a pair of 3-pointers, Brown made a basket in the lane, Head scored after a steal, Williams drove for a basket and then made a steal and fed Brown for another basket with 45 seconds left. After Jack Ingram deflected an inbounds pass, Williams hit a 3-pointer to tie it with 38 seconds to go. "Guys left and right on their team were hitting big buckets, left and right, left and right. Whether it was a big guy or a guard," Arizona's Mustafa Shakur said. "It was just an unbelievable thing to lose a game that way." Even Weber, who was drawing up the defense to spark the comeback, couldn't keep track of all that happened. "It was just crazy," he said. "We picked up the pace, did a little 2-2-1 zone, denied. Jack made a steal, Dee made a steal and I'm not sure how Deron got the last 3," Weber said. After Williams tied it at 80 in regulation, Salim Stoudamire, the hero of Arizona's semifinal win over Oklahoma State with a last-second game-winner, dribbled the clock down and then passed the ball to Jawann McClellan. He missed, but Stoudamire came up with a loose ball, only to have his shot blocked by Head. "The defense collapsed on me so I wasn't going to force it so I kicked it out to Jawann," said Stoudamire, who managed just nine points under heavy defense from Williams. Williams hit two more 3-pointers in overtime, but Illinois' victory wasn't secured until Arizona's Hassan Adams, who'd scored five points to get the Wildcats within a point, missed a rushed shot just before the final buzzer. Adams couldn't get the ball inside to Channing Frye or drive, so he took the shot. But it wasn't close. "It's extremely hard. ... My disappointment is for the team," Arizona coach Lute Olson said. "I'm disappointed we didn't reach one of our goals. I wish we could have closed it out." Williams, a junior who might leave for the NBA, finished with 22 points, hitting five 3-pointers, and had 10 assists. Head, playing with a sore hamstring, added 20. "We just played very hard down the stretch," Brown said. "Deron Williams, the best guard in America, came through, made a lot of great plays. In the huddle we just said we aren't going to lose this game." Stoudamire had a miserable game, making just 2 of 13 shots -- 1-of-7 on 3-pointers -- his chance of going to the Final Four for the first time as a senior erased. "It was just an off night on my part. I didn't knock the shots down," he said. "I didn't quit though. I tried to do other things on the floor and it just so happens that we came up short." Frye was a force all night and finished with 24 points, 12 rebounds and six blocked shots. His 3-pointer with 6:03 left in regulation was the last field goal the Wildcats scored in regulation. Adams scored 21 on 9-of-13 shooting.
I was there. Paid $350 for a seat 13 rows behind the Arizona bench. I watch the tape of the game about once a year, and every single time I watch it, I still think there is no way they are going to come back and win. The comeback wasn't improbable, it was flat out impossible. I had no money on the game.....I was strictly a fan that day. I wanted to win so badly. I felt like I had been punched in the gut at the 4 minute mark. I was already dealing with the loss, and it was crushing. Then with every 3 pointer, I started to gain hope. I knew that Illinois could win the game if there was a couple minutes more on the clock, but it just didn't feel like there was enough time. Still down 9 with just over a minute left, the glimmer of hope that had arisen was about to die off. But somehow they pulled it out. After they took control and went up 6 in OT, it looked over. And then it was a sweat the other way as AZ would not go away. So many emotions, I was so worn out after that game.

Afterwards, I couldn't speak. Complete joy and shock. It will never make sense, no matter how many times I watch it. I can only imagine what the Arizona fans must have felt that day.

when I first started betting I made some dumb 9 team parlay on baseball. Of course the first 8 win... I needed the Dodgers to win to collect. They were up 2-0 after 2 innings.. I'm thinking of all the ways an 18 year old kid can blow a few grand. Then comes Chan Ho Park... he gives up a grand slam.. ugh.. that's going to be a problem... I hope they pull him now. Noooooo, they decide to leave him in... he gives up another freakin grand slam to the same damn guy... needless to say... they lost.

That and... a couple years ago I had a heavy wager on the Suns to beat the Nuggets. The Suns looked awful and I pretty much counted it a loss. They of course come back and make a last second shot to take the lead. They then decide to start celebrating with still like .6 or .8 left on the clock. The Nuggets toss a full court pass to a streaking Francisco Elson (i think) who tips it in at the buzzer. They of ourse mention the passer played QB in high school.. boy did that make me feel better, grrr

I feel sick thinking about these... why did i come to this thread?

Hey man I kinda feel your pain. I remember this past NBA season, I bet the rest of the money in my account at the time, which was about $250 for the Spurs to beat the Nets in New Jersey as a second half wager because the Spurs were up by 3 at the half and I bet on the ML for the Spurs at about -250 or something and the old ass Spurs got outscored by 10 in the fourth quarter to lose by 6 and I felt like shit. At that time, the Nets had 9 wins for the season and got their 10th win that night. Damn I hate those Nets.

                          Worst Beat PART 1:
Had to be 3 years ago when Illinois played Minnesota at Assembly Hall on Senior Day. I had Under 125 and all game it was a bore and the under was golden, sittin at like 50 points at half, but then everyone started lighting it up 2nd half...with like 5 minutes left, it at about 100 and i turn to my buddy and say "i guarantee that i will get jobbed with this game by a meaningless basket.....and i was sooooo right. as the stands were chanting for senior Chris Hicks to get off the bench he rode all year, the total was at 123, illinois was up by 18 and there were 17 seconds left, ball at mid court. they inbound it to hicks and he begins dribbling the clock out. i kept looking at the clock screaming MILK IT, MILK IT, but then with 2 seconds left, STANDING JUST inside half court, Hicks throws up a prayer at which point the cheers in Section 33 were drowned out with a NOOOOOOOOOOOO......clock ticks and the buzzer rings, ball is just about coming down, hits OFF THE GLASS and goes in, pushing the total to 126, and OVER......i INSTANTLY sank down and SCREAMED NOOOO YOU STUPID ****, WHAT THE **** and stormed out....WORST BEAT EVER, or so i thought....

                          Worst Beat Part DEUX:
It happened this past year, and came at the hands of the llini again. Had Illinois -1.5 vs Fresno State on Decemeber 7, 2009 at Memorial Stadium....it was a chilly all game and the scoring was back and forth ALL afternoon...the Illini took a 28-21 lead into half and that margin remained at the start of the 4th as it was 38-31 Illinois before all hell broke lose...with 6 minutes left we led 52-45 and it looked like a good W as we got a late pickoff and simply had to milk the clock, but as everyone saw the past 2 years...WE BLOW.....we end up not being able to get the 1st and we punt and give the Bulldogs and Pat Hill one more chance..They start from the Fresno 33 yard line with 45 seconds and move it to the Illinois 19 and its 4th down, 13 seconds left.....after a wild QB scramble he finds a WIDE OPEN WR and they connect for a CONTROVERSIAL 19 yard TD with 2 seconds left....so they decide to go for 2 and the win...we load the box and GET ARMS on the QB who just throws it up for grabs, not even looking, the ball deflects off of a FSU WR and a 330lb lineman catches it on the delflection and barrlels in for the 2 pt conversion, and the W, after a LOOONG review, giving the bulldogs a 53-52 W....

i must say it was the 2nd best game i've ever been to, after the OHIO STATE victory at the horseshoe in 2007 and then that Rose Bowl trip, eventhough the game was a whipping, going to the rose bowl was sweeeeet.

Damn man those are bad. But that 2 point conversion didn't matter cause make it or not you still lost. The fact that they went for 2 blows because it killed your chance of covering in OT.

well they never shoulda gave up the TD on 4th down from the 20 to make it a 1 point game and miss the cover..and after that i wanted the Illini win as i was there like usual but that the 2 pt converison sealed the ridiculousness of that game though lol....WILDEST GAME EVER!

the phillies were beating the lowly pirates 5-2 going into the seventh inning.

this was a few weeks ago..

I'd just be glad that was the 2nd game and not the 7th game in your parlay.

I was in Harness racing had more fun than ever before in my life. I put half my money in Penny stocks and took half to go to Vegas and play poker. Penny stocks crashed, lost the rest in a huge game on a bad beat (had my money in as a 4-1 fav and got rivered) I start over in Vegas I get on a run one night and win 9k I go to Little Ceasers sports book to bet the whole thing on a parlay (baseball) If I win I'm going back to NY and back to racing. Doc gooden is playing the Cubs early like at 10 am in Vegas (still havent gone to bed) he was like -190 but +110 on the run line so I took the run line....Later in the afternoon Mike Scott is pitching for the Astro vs the lowly Padres -190 (0n the road) ev on the run line I took the run line there also. Gooden coast and wins like 10-3 or 9-3 so I need Scott (one of the best pitchers at the time) to get back into racing again Astro's winning 2-0 in the 7th (im packing) bases load for padres but 2 outs, Scott is still in. Pop up to 2nd base easy play man im happy Dickie Thon gets under but something is wrong the sun gets in his eyes he covers his face with his forearm it hits off his arm and rolls all the way to the tarp 3 runs score I lose....thing is if it wasnt in SD that doesnt happen. Oh well that started my Casino career which is still going

1 game stands out for me. Not because I had a lot of money on it, but because it was an insane turnaround.
It was an NBA game about 2 or 3 years ago. I think I had Hornets or Bobcats (I forget all the details). And I had them at +4. At halftime my team was up by 35 points. I stopped following the game. I came back later, after the game had ended, and I had lost my bet. I checked what had happened. My team only scored 8 points in the 3rd quarter, and 8 points in the 4th quarter...

Took the over in the Falcons vs Browns game. It was one play in 6 team parlay. The Falcons had the ball at the Browns one yard and failed to make it in on 4 tries and that score would of pushed the game over and won my $1600 parlay.

I was rolling from weekend football and I felt so good about the Monday night game that I put my entire $700 balance on it. I had Dallas -3.5 at home against Washington. Dallas was up 13-0 with like 2 minutes to go and the Redskins were almost out. They had the ball in there territory and Santana Moss burned Aaron Glenn on 4th down to cut the Cowboys lead to 7. Then all of a sudden the Redskins get the ball back and almost the same exact play they do it again. Santana Moss beats Aaron Glenn and the Redskins pull off an amazing comeback.

They were up 2-0 after 2 innings.. I'm thinking of all the ways an 18 year old kid can blow a few grand. Then comes Chan Ho Park... he gives up a grand slam.. ugh.. that's going to be a problem... I hope they pull him now. Noooooo, they decide to leave him in... he gives up another freakin grand slam to the same damn guy... needless to say... they lost.

Ouch dude I remember this game vividly, not because I bet on it, but because I kid at the time and a Cardinals fan and this game has a moment that I think we'll never happen again.

That was Fernando Tatis who hit both of the grand slams but the bigger thing about the slams, was that they were in the same inning. Unbelievable.

                                                        Nov 2008

Box score for the Northwestern Wildcats vs. Illinois Fighting Illini NCAAF game from November 22, 2008 on ESPN. Includes all passing, rushing and receiving stats.

EVANSTON, Ill. -- C.J. Bacher threw two touchdown passes, one to Eric Peterman in the fourth quarter after a 51-yard punt return by Brendan Smith, as Northwestern beat Illinois 27-10 Saturday to strengthen its case for a New Year's Day bowl.
The Wildcats (9-3, 5-3) became just the fifth team in school history to win at least nine games -- the first since 1996 when coach Pat Fitzgerald was the team's star linebacker.
Fans rushed out of the stands and mobbed the team in the middle of the field to celebrate at the end of a cold game for which the wind chill at kickoff was 26 degrees.
Northwestern was already ensured of a bowl bid, but was hoping to land one on Jan. 1. Representatives from the Outback and Capital One -- both on New Year's Day -- and the Alamo and Insight bowls were at the game.
For Illinois, it was the end to a disappointing season following up on a Rose Bowl trip.
The Illini (5-7, 3-5) mounted a second-half comeback after trailing 13-0 at the break, but had their slim bowl chances erased.
With Northwestern leading 16-10 in the fourth quarter, Smith broke off his return to the Illinois 20. Two plays later, Bacher hit Peterman for an 18-yard TD pass with 9:08 left.
Peterman was a tough guy to cover all day for the Illini. He had eight catches for 111 yards.
Illinois quarterback Juice Williams, who was sacked five times, got going in the second half and finished with 94 yards rushing on 25 carries, while completing 20 of 36 for 212 yards. Bacher hit on 22 of 33 passes for 230 yards.
Bacher's 22-yard pass to Peterman on third down and another 13-yarder to Ross Lane sent the Wildcats on a 76-yard scoring drive late in the first quarter, one capped by Stephen Simmons' 1-yard scoring run. Amado Villarreal then missed the extra point.
On their next possession, the Wildcats moved 60 yards against the Illini defense. On a third-and-8, Bacher rolled right and then threw back across the field to the back of the end zone to Lane, who hauled it in while making sure to keep his feet in bounds as the Wildcats went up by two TDs.
The Illini regrouped at the half, took the opening kickoff and moved 80 yards behind the play of Williams, who threw a 31-yard pass to Jeff Cumberland on a third-and-14. He also carried four times, including a 16-yarder that set up a 1-yard TD run by Jason Ford. Williams also eclipsed Tony Eason's single-season school record (3,671) for total offense.
Saturday's game marked the last time Illinois and Northwestern played for the Sweet Sioux Tomahawk. The framed tomahawk has been a part of the instate rivalry since 1947, but school officials announced Friday that its run will end as part of the 2005 NCAA directive to stop using American Indian imagery.

If the score stays the same, cardinals kick a field goal, or score a touchdown between me and my dad we win the pool for that quarter. James Harrison intercepts it and returns the ball 100 yards for a touchdown, the only play that makes us lose. Was only like a $10 pool but it still hurt.
