    Could a player on a terrible team win the Heisman?
    Say Robert Griffin on Baylor? Kid is amazing.

            Yes, but the player's stats would have to BLOW AWAY the stats of other leading contenders from the better schools.

              More likely, a terrible player on a great team would win it. I don't know how anyone can take the Heisman trophy award seriously after Gino Toretta won it.

                the last player that I can think of who won from a bad team was Paul Hornung from Notre Dame.

                While LT is, at least, theoretically right, a player from a bad team could win it...I think it highly unlikely.

                  well...I dont think a terrible player will win it...but I do agree that a prominent player (althought not necessairly great player) on a great team has a better chance.

                                    I'm from TX, and would have agreed wholeheartedly with Fish's post.

                                    Baylor football has been a joke for decades. B4 RG3, the best player to come out of Baylor was a punter, Supulveda, who won the Ray Guy in two consecutive years.

                                    They used to go by the name "Bye-lor". Lol
