Which sport requires the greatest level of fitness?
For me either boxing or biathlon.I would lean towards biathlon.

You may be right JJ. Soccer is the only major pro sport hasn't had an overweight player (that I can think of). Maybe there was a hefty guy at goalie somewhere?

I would say boxing then football... Hockey and Soccer as right there too.... I say Boxing then football because with those sports it doesn't just involve running it involves running along with getting clubbered time after time...
When you are sprinting it's not too bad... When you are getting hit it sucks but you can deal with hit... What's a b*tch is when time and time again you are sprinting AND getting hit...
Just a little example of what I am talking about... I use to do 100 yard sprints 10 times meaning I would sprint from goaline to goaline then walk back... By the time I got back I should be ready to do another... If you are talking to someone while you are walking after a sprint or while you are running it makes it MUCH harder to catch your breath... Imagine getting hit by Linebackers play after play along with all the running... If I was yappin' with someone while I was walking back then it made it MUCH MUCH harder to catch my breath by the time I got back to the other goaline... Much how tougher do you think getting hit by a Linebacker or "Iron Mike" would make catching your breath..???
I played on Scout team before and as an OLinemen you don't do much running you just hit but as a RBack or Linebaker it's a different ball game... As a Linebacker or Running Back you are sprinting and taking a shoulder pad or helmet in your chest and that makes it harder to get yourself together for the next play... You guys have heard the term "football shape" well that's it and at the beginning it's a mother f*cker but your body does get use to it to a point anyway..

Have you ever tried it or watched itThey ski as fast as they can up and down the sides of mountains for 2.5km then shoot at targets on the range, then do it another 3 times,if they miss a target then they go round a penalty loop, now that`s hard.

Even though you guys might not consider Bodybuilding a sport, it requires a ton of training. At least 2 - 1 hour or more training sessions per day. Plus not being able to eat what u want.
