I've changed my mind about moving to Florida.

Flat Florida swamp land at sea level is not a good mix with strong hurricanes with storm surges. I'm out. I'm not prepared to experience home damage every year even with hurricane insurance. It's a damn shame because I love those white sandy beaches in Florida!

Moving to Alabama instead in a few years. Got family there.

Family is one thing, I wouldn't move anywhere near the Gulf of Mexico voluntarily.
Forget Florida, just look at New Orleans and the weather they've had in the past couple of decades.

New Orleans is below sea level and that's why they got slammed years ago when those levies broke down. Always sketchy living at or below sea level near the Ocean in the South period.

I know New Orleans is below sea level, even if was even sea level, the 80 degree plus water temp of the Gulf makes for some supercharged weather.

The Army Corps of Engineers will tell you New Orleans, no matter how much they can do for a below sea level city is beyond dangerous to live in year in, year out.

If you look through historical data some of the most powerful natural disasters happened over a century ago long before everyone was driving cars and flying in airplanes. Once almost got my ass whipped for throwing darts at a florida map taped to the wall of a fishing cabin in Cedar Key; all the parents had gone out fishing on an adult fishing trip while the punkass kids got left behind; my cousin and I started a dart game in which lake okeechobee was the f'n bullseye.

Monday the scientists were talking about Tampa being the ground zero, now the scientists say landfall will be about 20 miles south of Tampa.

I read up on Fauci about two or so years ago.
His focus was pharmaceuticals when he first started studying medicine, particularly cancer medication.
