Moving to Alabama instead in a few years. Got family there.
Family is one thing, I wouldn't move anywhere near the Gulf of Mexico voluntarily.
Forget Florida, just look at New Orleans and the weather they've had in the past couple of decades.

New Orleans is below sea level and that's why they got slammed years ago when those levies broke down. Always sketchy living at or below sea level near the Ocean in the South period.

I know New Orleans is below sea level, even if was even sea level, the 80 degree plus water temp of the Gulf makes for some supercharged weather.

The Army Corps of Engineers will tell you New Orleans, no matter how much they can do for a below sea level city is beyond dangerous to live in year in, year out.

speaking of new orleans, i think the documentary movie "closed for storm" about six flags (and the area in general) is really fantastic

Ian is the 6th major hurricane to hit the US in the last 50 years

In the previous 50 years, there were 16 major hurricanes

It's hurricane season and yes Florida will have hurricanes. This one is big but no evidence of Global warming and climate change still.

Donker? Are you taking your boat to Florida for rescue missions?

We need to know which jack shacks are still standing once this is done.

Not really all over the place.
It shifted from northwest to due north some, now a little northeast but not that much.

Monday the scientists were talking about Tampa being the ground zero, now the scientists say landfall will be about 20 miles south of Tampa.

    Read the latest advisory here.

Mother and grandmother (grandfather passed away last month) are hunkering down in Punta Gorda , 2 blocks from peace river. I'm praying to God that house will hold up. The storm surge alone should flood everything. Naples is now underwater.

    scientists?

    hopefully not this fuktard:

although this pompous prick had the audacity to claim "I am science," I think we better leave this to the meteorologists that have a clue, and tell the f'n "scientists" to go fuk themselves.....

Fauci is not 'science', too funny.

I read up on Fauci about two or so years ago.
His focus was pharmaceuticals when he first started studying medicine, particularly cancer medication.
Then his focus turned to viruses.

He's smart, but he doesn't know earth science like, say, Jim Cantore does.

If I wanted baseball advice I would ask Ichiro or Ted Williams if he was still drawing breath before asking somebody like wayne Gretzky.
