Which book are you concerned about? Those general rules above are observed in a number of places.
Pretty easy to find these rules at your specific book.
I would suggest you do that.

Most U.S. books count the first 2 or 3 innings of the following game for each team. If your teams don't play for a month or 2 you might be waiting a while for your bet to be graded.
If it was called because of rain you get paid double your original stake. If called for any other reason see above.
BOL
p.s. One time this happened to me during the last game of the season and I had to wait till the following year for my ticket to be graded.

One of the good things about draftkings, and some of the other legal books, is they grade the total as soon as it hits. If you have over, and its over in the first inning, its graded. I lost a few at offshore sites because "totals need to go full game" after it got called off after rain. Bet was graded a push. Less ambiguity.

lol you almost had me.
I was starting to think there were some new rules out there.
But this sounds to good to be true. Always wanted to do away with the 8.5 innings rule, even if it has saved me as many times as it has helped.

Maybe look under sports betting rules? They have to grade based on their rules. Why are you asking a bunch of strangers about the rules of sportsbooks? Each book has their own rules.

It's just insane some of the rules certain shops are implementing.

I had that happen about 10 years ago with the same Red Sox game twice. I hit the over the 1st time they played and it was voided because it was rain shortened, then the next day, they played the game again, and the same thing happened. The total hit early and the game got called due to rain. Crazy shit.

Happened tonight. Had Sea/Hou over 8, graded by the 5th inning.

Money line counts after 5 innings
For O/u and run line the game has to go the full 9 innings
