Great hitting lineup and decent pitching core

Great bullpen. have a lineup of guys having career years like crawford and belt.
Speaking of brandon crawford, he was in his "walk year", so he had the best year of his entire 11-year career. giants gave him a contract extension, to keep him off the fa market. lets see how he does in '22

Heart and nothing to prove. Both pitching and hitting very solid on top of that. Lastly, Buster and both Brandons going for one last hurrah.

Thanks stake and machba. I hope they win the division. The Dodgers in a one game elimination would be interesting.

    Career years from 3 pitchers

    It's crazy

    Auto fade in post season

    Ultimate case of overachiever

That rotation would not have the better starting pitcher on the mound in any game this post season.

There's no way to lay juice on that. If they were dogs it'd be worth betting but I'd happily take a shot w Wainwright/ Lester or Cinci's stud in gm1 at +140

Giants are literally playing "Giants baseball" No big egos, different hero almost everyday. I'd take my chances with this team compared to the villians at chavez ravine. This isn't a 60 game season.

This is a preaseaso prediction from ESPN on March 30, 2021.

Obviously it's a preseason prediction and you know how those can go, that's how this one went...

    https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/...r-all-30-teams

...Projected record: 70-92 (1.2% playoff odds)

Best case: The Giants continue to engage in a bold rebuilding effort without bottoming out. That leaves their upside as mediocre, and in a league where mediocre likely leaves you out of wild-card contention, the short-term outlook is blah. But there are enough viable veterans on hand that given good health, San Francisco could push toward 80 wins.
    -- Doolittle

Worst case: As for bottoming out ... When your upside is the middle and you've got a lot of older players, it's possible player- availability issues snowball and despite being a team in the tank, you do a good imitation of one. Worst case for the Giants would be finishing behind Colorado, which would translate to somewhere around 100 losses. -- Doolittle...

Definitely going to see a 100 win team play a 1 game playoff, it's nuts IMO. Giants or lad win either way, cards will not win a 1 gm JMO

If they stay hot like they are now? Look out. There is always some BS team not built for “162” that gets steam hot last 2-3 weeks of season and then screws a team
What mlb needs to do is re-seed and remove either the Dodgers or Giants from having to face a garbage team that only played good for 2-3 weeks to get in anyway

I just remembered Yadier is on the cards and the last thing i want to see is molina and the old ass cards in a 1 game series , especially steamrolling , you have a great point. Wow, this is gonna be interesting.

Almost a guarantee. Giants/Dodgers will be well over a -$200 fave. cards will win that single game, then get swept in the Nlds

    Rotation doesn't apply to SF.
Quite frequently they use an 'opener' than their stellar bullpen by committee.

They set a record as they were 10.5 games back after 130 games and beat Atlanta in the last game of the season to get in the playoffs.

We were just talking about that in DDD's thread.

DDD posted a tweet with these stats...

    Here's the scene on Sept 7th 2021...

Here's what it looks like now...
