Did they really need to cancel the Yankees game?

How long does it take to sanitize a locker room? Two or three hours? We have people flying on airplanes without a problem.

    Dude, it's the Yankees.

It would have been media suicide if they played that game today. Easier to play a potential doubleheader somewhere down the line than put a team in that dressing room no matter how sanitized it was.

Or it could have instilled some public confidence that they can make this happen.

    Even if they can't...

The Yankees actually wanted a win be forfeit of the Phillies but MLB commisioner wouldn't give in to them.

That was the original rule if a team couldn’t field a team it was supposed to be a forfeit win for the opponent. Maybe they changed the rule since I read it a couple weeks ago

    later

It’s action though... kind of like banging a slump buster after midnight.

Yankees are still in Philadelphia at the team hotel and, as of right now, are expecting to play a game at Citizens Bank Park tomorrow. Team is waiting on the Phillies' COVID test results.

True, at my work someone is sick they spend half hour spraying surface areas then good to go. No need to close.
