I think they tied that record tonight on that end. It is the longest game that I have ever seen in baseball though.

      Cards -250 tomorrow??

Bullpen is dead, Its Wainwright vs the world. Mets pen is dead too, but still, the cardinal bats scored 1 run in 20 innings!

The Cardinals blew their chance in the 14th with 2nd and 3rd no outs. Schumaker and Ludwick proceed to strike out, then after Pujols walk pitcher makes an out. Ludwick was awful yesterday between a couple of bad base running plays as well as a couple of chances to deliver in late innings and not.

Brock, I thought you'd make St Louis your rubber band play tonight. Mets couldn't score against a so-so bullpen, and could only score when a position player was pitching. What are Mets going to do against Wainwright? Seems like St Louis 1st 5 innings would be the play if there's concerns about bullpen, plus Wainwright can help himself out with the bat.

So, what is the angle for today's game? Cardinals have no bullpen and it is Wainright vs the world or Mets suck and can't even crush position players and will get steamrolled by Adam today.

I would think that but, on the other hand, maybe it would force the starters to, ya know ... pitch. Work themselves out of jams and be wise with their pitch selections. I've grown weary of today's version of a starting pitcher sans Halladay, Livan, and Sabathia.
