Let’s Talk About NBA Scoring And Totals
Through just a few days, scoring is way up. I don’t play totals much, but anyone adjusting to these new totals. Almost all the games are at least in the 210’s, the Laker game tonight is 235.

Is this all because the of the shot clock only resetting to 14 on offensive rebounds? Now if only MLB could figure out how to adjust pace of play.

KRIT, nice comments......... wonder how fast betting market will adjust?... i had no idea on the o rebound change. nice change..

nothing to do with totals, but favour teams with deeper benches? combo guards and bench scorers more valuable??

could not believe that gsw-utah halftime score last night.

Isn't there some new foul rule they're enforcing too? Seems like u could chase the over on each qtr and you're bound to hit it

That was a lot of just absurd shot making, but the emphasis on freedom of movement is causing a lot of fouls and teams are getting in the bonus very early.

          In hockey as well.

Let's face it these leagues don't want defense. Players are just programmed to score

lots of scoring will kill the interest in any sport, nobody wants to watch no defense

The players are just too good now NBA, rosters loaded

I think only main rule change is the shot clock on offensive rebounds. Is that the lone reason for these totals? When is the last time we saw a total of 235? Think we may see a team score close to 200 this season.

235 totals are pretty common, I think scoring has not changed and will be normal, just happening right now.

You would think that but sometimes they're a little slow. Kemba Walker had 41 on opening night. His total last night was 23.5 and I took Over. He scored 26 in around 27 minutes. I figured he'd play much more tonite and they had a line of 22.5. He's got 22 at halftime. The guy is a 3 pt shooter now! Teams are shooting a ton of 3s and running up and down in general. Nobody is walking it up the court because half court offense is still pretty hard with a bunch of 6'10 guys with quickness. Its easier to run and get open looks or layups. If you wanted to walk it up the court then you'd never get any free agents. They've ran the grinding attack out of the league.

So far 3 of the 4 games have gone over. Scoring is way up, teams getting into the 110’s at ease.
