Happened to me about a year ago. Didn't think one small CC deposit would effect all the countless BTC deposits in the acct? But of course it did. Spoke to a supervisor and they were kind enough to put me back on the "BTC preferred list".

Let's just say... it's very valuable to be on any books BTC preferred list. It's a pain in the ass when you're off of it. Hate dealing with chks.

The thing that people here forget to mention, one of the BIGGEST faults of offshore books, is rollover.
Local gives you credit, cash out weekly, props, alternate runlines, the works.
Sure 5D has nice overnight lines, but what good is it if I have to roll over my entire balance and then get the runaround for trying to withdraw "too quickly". Also no need to deal with BTC exchange rates, deposit issues, etc. Good local is 1000x better than any offshore.

That's what happens when a book gets a robot customer service mentality. They don't look at individual situations. I had a partial refund (like $6) put back into my account from a wager. I deposit via BTC 90% of the time. I was told I was not BTC exclusive because I deposited with $6 left in my account. I am only considered BTC exclusive if I deposit with $0 in the account.

Think about that for a second and it'll probably make you scratch your head like I did. I love 5Dimes and have been with them for years but talk about nonsense.

I think locals are just like offshore books, there are reputable well-funded ones who have been around for years and would never stiff anyone. And then there's little jerk-offs setting up shop in their mom's basement with a $7,000 bankroll.

That's why all the locals business is Word of Mouth because guys want not only someone to vouch for the local but to be be vouched for themselves.

Hey man, I am new to the SBR. I have been following the site for a while but never post or message people. I have been playing on bovada and it has been taking me 10+ days to receive my withdraws and sometimes it is a partial. I am tired of it and would really like a local. Is there anything you could do to help me by any chance? I am just looking for every day playing and really just a loyal system. You lose you pay on time period. Not no freaking coward. Thanks I’m advance either way! Have a good one.

You shouldn't be having this issue with Bovada. Are you using bitcoin, and if not, why? That should solve your problem.

Yeah my guy in Philly hooked me up with a local, gave me a nice credit limit and a log in to the site they use. He's been using him for 20 years apparently.

I haven't used it yet. Maybe I'll test him with a $500 bet and see how smooth it is.

Main reason being credit and (I'm assuming) if you want to stay under the radar with large cash bets if you have a reputable local.

You mean if you hit casino/slots/sport's or not, Uncle Sam will want to know how much?
But, does that same Uncle concern himself with your losses?

For deductions yes, but even then its not in your favor.

You may deduct your gambling losses on Schedule A, Itemized Deductions. The deduction is limited to the amount of your winnings. You must report your winnings as income and claim your allowable losses separately. You cannot reduce your winnings by your losses and report the difference.

Well did 1st BTC withdraw w 5 Dimes this week. Requested 1000 on Weds, got the rejection / security call and email. Verified the email address, tried again Friday had to respond to their email with my account # in the subject line asking to verify my account # (?) then copy and paste btc address to them. Came back again saying address didn’t match original request ? Did get a phone call Sunday afternoon explaining all this & this guy was top notch as I requested at 2pm & funds were in wallet by 4. I’d give the whole experience a 7 out of 10. Not as quick as PokerStarsNJ’s 15 mins but in the end funds did arrive.

    True.

The term "Welshing on a bet" came about first when talking about bookies closing up shop in the middle of the night and crossing the border into Wales to avoid payouts.

"Fly-by-night" operation is also a related phrase, but I don't remember if the origin is scamming bookies or not. I lean towards no.

To the 5Dimes rep reading this thread: this obvious stalling and pettiness make people not want to do business with you.

    Slight hassle - but reputable
    4. 5Dimes - Not so fast. But you'll get it before you die.

All the other books... piss on em

Other books that operate in BTC only...

Fairlay - Super fast. No issues.
Nitrogen - Slightly longer delay than Fairlay... but within 4 hours.
    Love this post!

I do a little Nitro leftover from when they were the only btc book. But FL and Nitro are no where near the quality of the great books listed above.

Like to see 5D step up a bit on btc. They took btc before almost everyone else but have been slow to improve speed of payouts.
