This pole is rather bogus though if you look at the number of people that they had partake in it.

    Most Israelis oppose legal gambling

Most Israelis would oppose legalized gambling in their country, a poll found.

According to the Keevon Research, Strategy and Communications survey released Monday, 37 percent of Israelis want gambling legalized while 55 percent are happy with keeping it illegal. Eight percent had no opinion.

The poll, which had 500 Jewish Israeli respondents and a 4.5 percent margin of error, found that opposition to gambling is stronger among the religious, the less educated and the poor.

Israel has a brisk underground casino scene and many of its citizens regular visit nearby European countries where gambling is legal. The closure of the Palestinian Authority's only casino, in Jericho, after the outbreak of violence in 2000 has stirred speculation that the Jewish state could ease its ban on gambling.

Here is a link about a sick Israeli gambler named Ofer Maximov, whose sister embezzled the equivalent of over $50 million from the bank she worked for to finance his gambling habit, and subsequently led to the bank's collapse.

and here's a link of an article written by John L. Smith of the Las vegas Review Journal describing how Maximov turned to Jewish organized crime that operates in Vegas and around the world which in turn led to Maximov approaching his sister for help.

Anybody here know what confidence level is usually meant when somebody or other announces poll results with a certain "margin of error"? Or would the pollsters, and especially those reporting the results, not even understand what that means?
