    Indians Might Be Forced To Not Wear "Offensive" Uniforms In Toronto

    TORONTO — A prominent indigenous activist and architect is seeking a court ruling that would prevent the Cleveland Indians from wearing their regular jerseys, using their team name and displaying their logo when they play against the Blue Jays in Toronto this week.

    Douglas Cardinal, an officer of the Order of Canada, has filed applications to the Ontario Superior Court, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Canadian Human Rights Commission, arguing that the Cleveland Indians’ team name and mascot — Chief Wahoo, a cartoon man with red skin and a feather in his headband — are offensive and discriminatory.

    When the Blue Jays play Cleveland for the American League Championship Series, the Ontario Human Rights Commissioner wants news outlets to avoid using their opponent’s full name.

    I'm so fuking tired of this Indian/redskins ect . My high school mascot/nickname is the redskins, and we had fuking so called Indians or people that claimed to be offended by the school name hold fuking town hall meeting at the school and city counsel. after 5 years of not getting anywhere they finally gave up for a while. not sure if they have tired recently to get the name changed. I'm not Indian so I guess I cannot relate but damn seems so petty
