Notre Dame at Michigan: How The Mighty Have Fallen
Wonder how long it's been since neither of these two teams were nationally ranked? Decades, perhaps generations. Maybe never, since the national polls began
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust . . .

I do know it's the first time ever that both are 0-2 in the same season.

If there's any possible way for both teams to lose this game, that's what I'm cheering for.

No lie, Stump. Hell, Bob Davies might be a step up for the Irish at this point.
Even with the fact they're both 0-2 right now, the game is still a big one which says something about their past prominence in the ranks. Somebody walks out of that stadium 0-3 this week, meaning there is a going to be a very high-profile coaching job available before too long.

If you are going to take UM, you can earn your way into heaven by giving that money to a homeless person or a needy charity. But by no means should you take UM giving any points even if the game is played in a classroon on the campus.

Right. TW actually took Stanford, all all teams, to the Rose Bowl (Where they lost, but covered, vs Wisconsin).
And, he's doing a good job rebuilding the Washington team, who may acutally get a bowl this year.
And ND won the prior two years with Willingham's recruits

Notre Dame is "mighty" in the sense of thier storied history. I believe more movies have been made about them than about any other sports team, amateur or pro. Even more than about the NY Yankees.
And of course they have won a lot of games over a lot of years.
Their problem is the same that teams like Stanford, Vandy and other with high academic standards have: they can't recruit defensive speed -- which means, mainly, recruiting African-American players. Precisely because not that many black players who have that kind of athletic ability can also cut the high academic standards of schools like Stanford, ND etc. They don't permit basket-weaving classes at such colleges.
(My politically incorrent statement of the month. But everyone knows it, even tho no one - esp the Cowardly Lions on ESPN etc - will say it. The US is drowning in hypocrisy.)

SO WHAT!!!! Do you honestly think GTech. gave a sh*t about their tradition or movies.. All that sh*t is for the fans and means ABSOULTELY NOTHING when the ball is kicked off... If you can't execute, not stronger, not fast enough.. tradition isn't going to do you a damn thing... It's abstract BULLSH*T!!! The teams they beat are sh*t and the tough teams (the few that are on their schedule) they lose to.. Charlie's best game has been a loss... (USC) They shouldn't even be talked about...
Furthermore, "The Rocket" was pretty damn fast ...now either ND standards went up or these blacks with speed that you are talking about have become stupid and ND is the only one on the planet that has high standards and doesn't break rules...
When was the last time ND was a good team..? Not in this decade that's for sure...
