They have one of the best farm teams right now so Montero or Syndegard in a deal to get a big name isn't going to kill them.
Only a fkn moron would say the MEts aren't contenders or HArvey isn't a top 5 pitcher.

Being a CONTENDER in MLB is anyone capable of winning a wild card.
How many Wild card teams have won a world series? Quite a few lately.

Mets can win that division, especially the way the Nats have been playing so far.
Just bump this at the All-star break, we will have a better idea by then.
The one thing I hate is that for a 2nd straight year when rumbles of collins being on the hot seat to open the year happen, the Mets always save him and secure him for a while with some good ball.
He is by far in the bottom 5 WORST managers easily and will cost them a bunch of games like usual before the season ends.
My God, you are a bigger idiot then I give you credit for.
    Mets are not deep, anywhere.
After DeGrom and Harvey, and Harvey will blow out his arm again because he has a ten cent brain and will listen to nobody in regards to taking it easy, the bottom part of that rotation of Colon, Niese and Gee is not going to take them to the promised land.
Get off the Mets rooster you rooster sucking homo, Gee is going to get lit all season, Niese is a serviceble at best left handed pitcher.
Mets have no up the middle defense except Lagares, who is gold glove caliber. D'Arnund is death behind the plate, Murphy is not a secondbaseman that plays second, Flores/Tejada suck at SS. The up the middle defense is going to cost Gee and Niese and Colon big time in the long run.

Sit down and allow me to give you a baseball history lesson.
1984 Tigers won with up the middle defense. You think Wilcox and Petry are much better than Gee and Niese?
Trammell and Lemon and Parish and Whitaker saved that staff so many runs it wasn't even funny.
How many runs do you think the Mets are going to give up because of that up the middle defense?

    Deep? You make me laugh.
    Campbell at 3B is deep?
I thought you said you know baseball.

You think that bullpen is deep?
The bullpen sucks, you got a suck ass closer on a steroid suspension, his buddy is a steroid suspension waiting to happen.
They have no LHP in the bullpen to speak of.
Granderson isn't taking them to the promised land.
Wright is going to hit how many homers from the DL? 20? 25?

My God, Mets have two stud starters, a first baseman with a little pop, an up the middle defense that sucks balls, and you think because the Mets go on a little magic carpet ride in April they are the '27 Yanks.

Nationals rotation is 4 studs deep.
    Dodgers rotation is the same.
Both teams are stacked on offense.
Mets ain't beating out the Cards.
When it's said and done, Mets will be the 7th best team in the NL

I'm not talking World Series (a lot can go wrong for any team - and I don't think the Mets are deep enough), but anyone trashing Matt Harvey is clearly not familiar with the subject. Definite top 5 pitcher, possibly the best, and he's only getting better. The team has a future.
Here's the thing with Harvey. Throwing hard and Tommy John surgery is not a good combo. He throws hard every night.

Steve - unfortunately you can't hate your way to a Harvey injury. Mets rotation better than Dodgers or Nats.

Turn on Mets/Braves this afternoon and watch Colon - who's been the most impressive Met pitcher this year. The reason that everyone (including you) mention Harvey and deG is because of reputation, but Colon has been the ace. Gee and Niese can both pitch, 100% quality start from Gee last night got the win with a modest Mets offense.

Not hating on a Harvey injury, he's exciting to watch, thing is he knows only one speed, balls to the wall, while you have to love his enthusiasm, it's a receipe for disaster.

Fact of the matter is, when Wheeler went down, so did the Mets chances, the Mets can not win in the long run with Gee and Nisese making 60 combined starts.

Wins. LOL. The stat from the 1970's.

Then this boob thinks there's 2 outs so he's running on anything and he gets doubled up on a pop out.

    Weeeeee

The Mets will be in 3rd place in a month.

    Great pitcher #1 on a s h I t team that scores no runs

Great pitcher #2 on a good team that scores a lot of runs

Is pitcher #2 better because his team scores more runs for him?

Making this claim on 4/26 is ignorant.
