I was really shopping for Colorado. They are sitting at 20 - 1. But I see the Astros at 100 - 1 and I'm thinking hmmm... Yea, as the odds would indicate they are a lonnng shot but 100 to 1?

The Cubs, Brewers and Cards are ahead of them but these are some very average teams. The Astros are now just 7.5 back of course the clock is running out.

Any value in the (dis)Astros at 100-1?

Well it's within the realm of possibility that they could somehow capture the NL Central. Although, it's not very likely. Should they even manage that, however, I just can't see them winning two series against the Mets, Diamondbacks, Braves, Phillies or whoever gets that wild card. I think its a sucker bet honestly...

It's not even a sucker bet, it's flat out wasting cash. There is zero chance they over take all three teams in front of them to win the division. This team is about as pathetic as it gets in a pathetic division.

Yea, the division is an embarrassment. And MoneyF, if they were to win the division a big hedge could be made betting on their opponents on the way to the pennant. That would be the real play.

Most 100-1 shots are a waste although you hit one in 99 and you made a profit. The books have Colorado at 20-1 and they are 7 games back. Houston is 100-1 and 7.5 games back. Either that .5 game is more valuable than I think or Colorado is way over priced OR Houston has value at 100-1.

Rockies are only 3 games out of the Wild Card. I'd guess that's why they are so much more expensive.

Were at the 40 game stretch drive right now, and they can really make up some ground I think. The Play the Nats and Pitt at home these next two series. Then they play the Cardinals at home, and play the Cubs and the Brewers on the road. These next three weeks could actually be a very solid chance to make up some ground in that NL Central.

Yes, I feel could actually pull it off John.

Yeah, don't even think about putting money on the Astros. If you are going to burn your Ben Franklins give them to me before you do that. I live in Houston, this team is shit. They have 0, let me repeat, 0 chance of making the playoffs. A fat, nerd attending a Playboy photo shoot has a better chance of getting laid than the Astros have of making the playoffs.

              Honestly, save your money.

Do it. What do you have to lose. Take the Astros at 100-1. It's not like they have to win the World Series.

They are pretty bad this year. I have to admit that. When they traded Willie T for a stiff pither with a lifetime era of 6 the writing was on the wall. Plus their 2nd best hitter is out last I checked.

OK, I'll save the money. They are gutting out a lot of wins but I could just as easy see them drop 10 back in no time.

I wouldn't take 300-1 on them to make the playoffs.
