Dont be scammed this year! Stay with the tried and true.
The scams are already gearing up. We have already seen a book change its name and demand all players roll their money 10x.(roll means wager their balance times 10)

Offers from scams known as "hooks" are starting to show up everywhere; email, direct mail, by phone, ect.

In the past 8 years we have seen thousands of players lose tens of millions of dollars because of scams and deadbeat bookies.

No A or A+ sportsbook has ever gone out of business. You are safe there but even so spread your funds out over at least a couple of blue chip books.

Remember the "hooks" prey on your greed. We all want an angle, a special or just some free money. Don't get hooked by one of these scams. Play it smart.

Good post John. I think "common sense" is the key phrase here.

Solid post. The only new site I've branched out to this year was Matchbook, that's only because Pinny is no longer available to me. The other few sites I play at are all very reputable and A books.

The easiest people to scam are normally the ones who think they are sharp. I have never met anyone in my entire life that has never been scammed. We all have at one time or another.

This, of course, presumes that Cascade is "in business".

Still a strong post overall though.

So true... I think getting scammed is part of life. It's part of becoming wise.

I think at least for now Cascade has to be considered out of business. They are in default of their own payment plan. Their highest rating was an A-. Even so, if you look at the dozens of books rated B, B+ and A- there have been very few problems over many years.

If a guy wants to chance part of his bankroll on a special offer from a B book, really nothing wrong with that. But when you move down to the C's and D's, trying to squeeze out something out of their hook, its very risky. Just ask the guys we help. Not only do they get ripped off but its a painful process.

John, either here or in another seperate thread, could you explain how Cascade, an A- book, fell so far so fast as to officially be behind on their own payment plan? I am not implying they belong in this scam thread, but since they were mentioned, in your humble opinion, what happened. I know Lenny, he is a great guy.
