It's pretty sad that they are still too scared to post any NCAA lines whatsoever. The lines have been up at other books for almost 2 weeks now, and people are laying down money left and right, but Matchbook is so petrified of having any lines up without action that they refuse to put them up.
One of the greatest advantages of an exchange should be that since the house doesn't have a vested interest in any bet, they should be able to put them up ASAP. In theory, this means they could have 2009 lines up already if people wanted to bet them, but in practice I realize that they don't want to look like a ghost town, so they don't put them up earlier than other books.
However, this is just pathetic. I just laid down $3000+ at 5dimes and WSEX at -110 because I wanted to get money down before lines moved (and I was right, I got Akron at -3.5 which has now moved to -4 or -4.5, Iowa at -10.5 which has moved to -11 and UNLV -8 which has moved around to -8.5 or -9. The rest of my picks haven't moved).
I would GLADLY have put that money on matchbook, but sadly they absolutely refuse to list any lines.
I think they are costing themselves major business, but I guess their model is to be as conservative as possible and guarantee a share of the market rather than being aggressive and really trying to take over the American market which I think they could do if they tried.
