Do the Bengals have better than a 6% chance of winning the AFC North with Flacco?

Clearing the path for Dehaun to take back over - aka rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

I am sure we will see Sanders getting a chance too - hell, anyone who spent hard earned money on a ticket to watch this team and played a little high school ball should be given the opportunity to try out in my opinion.

Sneaky way to destroy your in state rival - unloading someone who is a net negative on them under the guise he can still play football at a competitive level - and getting a late round upgrade for doing so. Almost the smartest move the Browns have made in the last 20+ years - right behind trading Trent Richardson for a 1st rounder (of course in true Cleveland fashion - they pissed that “free” first rounder on Johnny Football)

Has the Dog Pound forgiven Belichick yet for running Bernie Kosar out of town?
Poor Bernie, he was just diagnosed with Alzheimer's and liver failure.
        That's not a good combination.

As much as we love Bernie what he did for this team/town - I refuse to say “poor Bernie”.

Guy has played victim more than half his life - blaming everything on the big bad game of football and the NFL owners for letting him get beaten up, suffering CTE and causing him to make stupid choices in life.

He is of course not alone in this - but whining and Cleveland just don’t go together. This town witnessed Ernie Davis lose his pro career before it got a chance to start- he didn’t cry and blame everyone else - he fought it and unfortunately it caught him after he felt he’d have a chance to have a life after football.

Bernie burned himself out on pain killers and booze and pissed away a small fortune on bad business deals. Plenty of blame to go around - but for the longest time he refused to accept any of it himself. He was a great player - but Jim Brown was indisputably better and this town never forgave him for his faults and outspoken stances for years. Jim Brown was flawed - but he tried to do some good too. Bernie tried to make a quick buck and trusted too many “friends” and yes men and sank into a dark spiral of bad luck - sucks but that’s life. No different than any gamblers story. We have our highs and lows - and the higher you get - the bigger the lows feel. Live, learn and move forward - it’s all you can do. I think he’s there now finally and glad he finally figured it out.

Yeah, it was common knowledge Bernie had a problem with booze; he was thrown off the air for being drunk or something like that, if I recall.

I don't want to speculate, but booze has to be the reason for his kidney failure; he did it to himself, but I wouldn't wish Alzheimer's on anybody,

Sad. Didn't know about post-football Bernie. Watched a highlight reel on YouTube - recommend the watch, whether he was before your time or for a quick nostalgic take of the 80s NFL.

The comments hit the nail on the head:

"""Watched him in his glory years of the eighties, ran like a glacier but a thought process like lightening. One of the greats of Browns history."""

""""I dont care about his awkward, unorthodox style. His long ball over the shoulder throws are unmatched. Crazy accuracy."""

They got him to beat the Packers on Sunday. Then he will get traded to the next team the Packers play.

How can the Bengals possibly be so desperate as to trade for the Brown cast-off and start him in first week?
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

According to Bernie - it was the concussions that cost him his TV gig and made him slur his speech.

Former Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar believes he has been removed as a TV commentator for Cleveland's preseason games because of slurred speech he attributes to concussions sustained in the NFL.

Then he gets the gig as color commentary a few years later - and loses that for betting on the damn team in violation of NFL policy as part of an endorsement deal:

Cleveland Browns legend Bernie Kosar is speaking out for the first time since being removed from the team’s pregame radio show on Sunday.

This is why I say I don’t feel sorry for the guy. It’s ALWAYS someone else’s fault - even when it’s clearly on him. I don’t think he ever admitted that he was drunk during those broadcast - even though he clearly was. Just like he will never admit he simply failed to do his due diligence when Tipico offered him some endorsement cash to become spokesperson and make the “first bet” just like Pete Rose did in Cincinnati- difference of course was Rose couldn’t be punished any further by MLB for betting.

As to Flacco/Bengals - it’s just a marriage of desperation. You have a 1-4 Ravens less Lamar - division leading Steelers who could implode any week now with a Rodgers injury and Bengals team that has flat out underperformed. They are just hoping Flacco can help them score enough to win games and stay on the fight for the division as it could easily be won with 10 wins. We know the Browns aren’t winning double digits - Bengals hoping Flacco gets them a couple until Burrow comes back and leads them to the promised land.
