Damn, that sux. Spent a lot of days watching his Mets teams.

His playing days are somewhat forgotten. Was a Gold Glover on the Oriole teams that were so good defensively. Also showed power as 2B, something you didn't see back then.

He managed some great Met teams. I remember watching him berate Darryl in the dugout after Darryl showed up hung over. Also loved him flip-flopping Orosco/Roger on the LH/RH matchups against the Reds.

RIP, my man. You left your mark.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Four gold gloves at 2nd base, two World Series titles as a player. Such a great manager. Some delicate players on those Mets teams he dealt with.

I get that the Hall of Fame is for the very few but Dave Johnson is a man who deserves at least a mention for his lifetime body of work in baseball.
      Man, was he special .
Rest in Peace sir. What a run !

He sure was, STR. Weaver was the first manager to regularly play the LH/RH platoon. Davey made similar tactical moves.

1986 sticks out as an amazing season. Davey told the team that they would dominate, and they did. Looked like it was gone in Game Six, and they get the impossible comeback.
