    Bump:
    1) Would like to hear opinions on this.
    2) I learned that Alvarez is actually younger than Crawford.
    3) Alvarez favored, but I see that Crawford is getting more action.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

        OK. GL, chief.

So many boxing matches have disappointed since the 80s. This one looks like a legit big-time matchup.

            I like Crawford @ +150

Hes quicker and very elusive. I think he out points Canelo in a decision

I wonder about the action in this fight. I'm a boxing novice:
                1) Alvarez is the bigger name. Maybe that's why he's favored.
                2) Respect the comments in here. Crawford could be a live-dog.

Canelo is too big for Crawford. I think that Canelo will walk through Crawford's punches. I'm listening to a YouTube video right now by Timothy Bradley and his thoughts on the fight. He's saying that the ref favors Canelo and won't allow Crawford to tie up Canelo and hold.

Crawford normally fights at 147, moved up to 154 his last fight and now this one is at 168
Canelo has been fighting at 168.

The other thing to consider is the judging. 2 of the 3 that are judging Saturday, were judges for the Canelo/Bivol fight. Even though both scored Bivol 115-113, the fight wasn't that close. Canelo may lose but if it's close, Canelo is the major $$$ maker. Just went through the judges and their scores on previous Canelo fights. Crawford may win since he is quicker, but he'll have to do it decisively.

As two of the most dominant fighters of this generation prepare to face off, the Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford boxing match is shaping up to be the most wagered-on fight of the year. According to BetMGM data, bettors are showing heavy interest across multiple markets — including moneyline bets, knockout props, and technical decisions. Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford Odds Movement

When odds first opened, Canelo Alvarez was listed as the favorite at -200, while Terence Crawford opened as the underdog at +175. However, recent action has shifted the lines slightly in Crawford’s favor.
                          • Canelo Alvarez Current Odds: -160
                          • Terence Crawford Current Odds: +145
                          • Draw Current Odds: +1400 (from +1600)

This shift suggests increasing confidence in Crawford’s ability to compete — and possibly win — against the favored Alvarez. Betting Handle and Ticket Count Breakdown

Here’s a look at how bettors are wagering on the fight as we approach fight night: 3-Way Moneyline (Includes Draw)
                          • Canelo Alvarez
                            • Ticket Count: 19%
                            • Handle (Money Wagered): 49%
                          • Terence Crawford
                            • Ticket Count: 45%
                            • Handle: 38%
                          • Draw
                            • Ticket Count: 36%
                            • Handle: 13%
                          2-Way Moneyline (Excludes Draw)

According to BetMGM Senior Trader Alex Rella, “Crawford has received more than double the action than Canelo in regard to our 2-way money line.” While Alvarez is still attracting the majority of the money in the 3-way market, Crawford’s momentum is undeniable. Most Popular Betting Props

Prop betting is gaining traction, and these are the top three most bet-on prop outcomes for Alvarez vs. Crawford:
                          1. Terence Crawford by KO/TKO or DQ: +700
                          2. Canelo Alvarez by KO/TKO or DQ: +350
                          3. Terence Crawford by Points/Technical Decision: +225

Crawford bettors are clearly targeting a stoppage or a technical decision, indicating confidence in his ability to outbox Alvarez over 12 rounds or score a late-fight finish. Expert Analysis and Betting Trends

                          Alex Rella of BetMGM adds:

“In a battle between two of the best boxers of this generation, I fully expect Alvarez vs Crawford to be the most wagered on boxing match of the year. […] I anticipate the action will shift more in Alvarez’ direction as we get closer to fight night.”

That prediction lines up with historical betting patterns: sharp money often flows toward proven favorites like Canelo Alvarez as fight night nears. Still, the early wave of support for Crawford — especially in the 2-way moneyline and knockout markets — shouldn’t be ignored. Final Thoughts: Where’s the Smart Money Going?

While Alvarez remains the betting favorite, the significant early action on Crawford suggests this fight is closer than the odds might indicate. Bettors looking for value may lean toward:
                          • Crawford by Decision at +225
                          • Draw at +1400 (high-risk, high-reward)
                          • Alvarez KO at +350 (for those backing the favorite)

SBR's Themistoklis Alexis has his Canelo Alvarez vs Terrance Crawford prediction posted:

Pick to win: Alvarez (-165 DraftKings)

"Had these two met in the middle, I’d have bet on Crawford keeping his “0” intact, but super middleweight is a bridge too far - even for “Bud.”

As a man who cut his teeth at light welterweight and welterweight, Crawford moves up a whopping 21 pounds from the latter weight class to face Canelo, who naturally boasts the edge in punching power and experience at super middleweight. As Canelo himself can attest with his brief experiment at 175 pounds, an easier weight cut doesn’t guarantee easier results, and Crawford will learn that the hard way come Saturday night.

Given their respective styles, the pair should keep the action away from the ropes, with Crawford switch-hitting while Canelo works from the center of the ring. Granted, Crawford is the greatest technician Alvarez has faced in some time. But while he’ll certainly have the champ’s respect, he’ll soon find that super middleweight punches are simply a different beast, with Alvarez landing the more consequential blows en route to the W.

Despite the enormous jump in weight, Crawford enters fight night with a good bit of respect from oddsmakers, who’ve listed him as only a slight underdog. That means solid value on a seventh straight win for Canelo, with DraftKings (-165) edging out FanDuel in moneyline value (-180)."

Best bet: Alvarez by decision (+125 DraftKings)

"Canelo at 168 pounds may be a big leap for Crawford, but that doesn’t mean the victory will come easily to the defending champ.

Thanks to his six straight decision wins over a mixed bag of competition, Alvarez has earned a reputation for a lack of urgency in recent years. Between that and Crawford’s in-ring IQ and exceptional adaptability, this dance has all the makings of a 12-round affair.

Crawford’s stance switches, defensive savvy, and methodical ways should keep Canelo honest from first bell to last, with the latter’s body work and power punching being enough to sway the judges for another win on points.

As with our moneyline bet, DraftKings beats FanDuel only slightly with a win on points at +125. If you’re banking on the defending champ swaying all three judges, a bet on a unanimous decision offers even greater value at a solid +225 with DraftKings."

Agree with Raiders take and I kind of like Crawford but one thing to keep in mind is that the fight is likely to go to decision and Canelo has had numerous questionable decisions go his way over the years. That is giving me pause.

Thx for all the insights on here. I took:

                                2* CANELO Alvarez 1.60: 2 to win 1.20
...I like Raiders' angle on Weight. Weight matters a lot. Old saying in boxing that the "bigger man wins."
...A lot of resistance on this line. The dog looks so juicy. Enough to keep the value on the Fav (imho).

Good Luck! Hope that it's an entertaining fight.

I'm on the Crawford side. I would like to see him win. Just because of what boxing is. Crawford has been building up for this fight. His wight looks good. Canelo has been fighting know one like this. I see the body shots will add up in the end. I have Crawford in this one. The undercard is worth watching to. Enjoy the day with sports all day!!

It's so obvious too and these guys keep telling us how he hasn't lost it. Crawford older, moved up weight, canelo was one dimensional and got walked down like an inexperienced guy, dodged this fight for years. This is why boxing sucks this fight should have happened years ago.

Totally get that frustration — boxing politics always seem to get in the way of the best fights happening at the right time. By the time they do, someone’s past their peak and it just doesn’t feel the same.

Crawford is older… so dunno how the last the peak argument works here.
