It does parallel the Horse Racing. On day of race, they wait for any Inquiries. When the stewards confirm, payouts go to the tote board.

This is really no different than some of the horse races. Baffert's horse won the race a few years ago. Bets were paid, and then the horse failed the blood-test.

Most books now grade based on first official finishing order published after race ends.

I had a bet on NASCAR Xfin race that would have won after Sammy Smith DQed if books regraded for post race penalties.
