    Whats Chad Johnson got planned?

"I tried to change," he said. "I tried to be quiet. I tried not talking, playing what the outside world would call the humble role. This year, I'm going to play what the outside world would call the arrogant role. I call it confidence. Me being me, It's tough to walk the line between arrogance and humility. But I do back it up with my play, except for the last few weeks of the (2006) season.

"It's stupid to say. Some people aren't going to like it. But I set money aside (for fines). I did it in 2005. This is a year to entertain everyone around the world. Week 1, if I touch the end zone, you will laugh for a lifetime. Marvin might sit me down for the next game. But you will laugh."
Guesses on what his celebration will be? Something a la Randy Moss mock wiping himself w/ goalpost?

I don't really like all that bullsh*t.. I wish they would just play... Betting makes it more interesting to me not watching him act goofy... TJ who's your mamma had a better year then Ocho and you don't hear much from him...

The "ELITE" NFL players don't act goofy...

Hand the ball to the ref. Hot dogs are $5 up in the stands.

I'll betcha I won't, Chad. The smart money is on me rolling my eyes and saying, "What a douche."

Here's an idea: if you score a touchdown, go give your linemen pats on the back.

He does it for the fans you idiot. People love him when he does his little stunts after a touchdown. If you don't like it then don't watch.

I wouldn't call him a idiot. That stuff don't appeal to everyone. As I like some of that stuff, some can't stand it. To each their own.

Only thing I could not like about it is, the fact he could get suspended for a game, and screw up my capping for that game. Other then that, I am all for it.

I totally agree. I hope whatever he has planned it's within reason. Would be really stupid to get suspended for a game for a show in the endzone.

A person who truly believed in a team concept would not selfishly showboat in the end zone while the rest of his teammates watch. I find it after the fact posturing. It's even worse because it is not spontaneous, but rehersed crap he thinks will make us laugh. Keyword, thinks. He looks to be a selfish fool to me.

Just play the damn game. If you were at the least entertaining you would be in movies with all the other brothers. This is football, not excessive showboating 101. I did not sign up for that. I may complain to league pass, just drop the service. Plus what about all of the men before this sideshow clown that played the game with respect? Are they rollin over in their graves or what? We are damn fortunate this behavior is isolated, and punished. Besides all that I just don't like it much. No sir I don't.

                      Best Wishes...OF

bottom line is that chad's antics are a distraction to the team. he will get a fine (who cares), but more importantly, most likely a 15 yd penalty to go along with that.

this guy isn't that much different from TO, to be honest. yes i know TO has caused problems with QB's and what not, but much of that was over blown by the media...i don't think carson palmer is crazy on CJ, either.

TO is his role model. What does he state he is worried about? The fine, that he has to pay. Not the penalty for his special teams, and possibly get suspended and miss a regular season game. Not that stupid team shit. I would tell him straight up if I was coach, GM or owner of the team. If you pull a stunt like that we void your salary on conduct detrimental to the team. Look to void your contract and trade you asap. Let me tell you, they get heat from the sponsors, and the NFL head office, big time heat. Those old bald white dudes puffin on their habanas just sit there watch that and say, how fresh and funny. Now that I think about it, I hope he does something real good. Maybe obscene? Need something to take minds off Vick anyway.

In Chads case though, I honestly believe it's different. There are some players who truly only care about their own numbers, players who will make a locker room uncomfortable (TO?), but I honestly think Chad wants his team to win. He heeded the advice of staff and tried to cool it down last year, but he felt like he was changing himself, which psychologically he feels hindered his clutch performance.

I'm by no means a Bengals fan, but my read is he just loves playing football and loves to set the bar high for himself to excel with his sometimes outrageous claims and goofy antics. And if anyone is a distraction to that team, it's the plethora of their players who are getting arrested every off season, thats where the bad press comes from.

Chad Johnson is far worse then T.O... It just goes to show how stupid we the public really are.... The media takes two guys, T.O. & CJ, with one (IMO) acting worse then the other and the one acting worse is glorified while the minor offender is labeled as the bad guy...

BTW that is a great point about the 15 yard penalty... That can really f*ck his team but no one seems to care when he says sh*t like this...

You know if the rest of the world like Japan gets a hold of this game physically they will kick our as* because they don't do stupid sh*t like this... As a former HS Varsity coach I can tell you that can make up for some lack of talent...

Remmy, there's no question TO has historically been a huge pain in the ass to his teammates, and many of them have went on record saying such. In Chads case, maybe some don't care for his showboating, but to say he's a big distraction thats bringing bad press to that team is silly. As I stated, the real distraction is the frequent arrests on that team.

i agree that TO has been more of a pain in the ass...but it seems like everything TO does gets hammered by the press, while chad johnson can get away with stuff that TO could NEVER get away with...

TD celebrations are only a problem because the owners made it a problem with penalties. I've always thought it was entertaining and enhanced the overall pro football experience. The suits have taken some of the fun out of the pro game. Somebody celebrating or not celebrating after scoring a TD doesn't make them any better or any worse than anyone else. It's their own personal preference. TD celebrations never hurt anyone, until it was penalized.

What about the fans who can't stand them. They still have to watch or make a quick pissbreak. I don't watch football to see what happens after they score, I want to see how they score, how they move the ball and defend. Maybe I am a purist but just play the game. The best I wish somebody would hit that clown into another universe was Ronnie Lott's super bowl hit on Ickey Shuffler Woods. I don't think he ever shuffled again, at least intentionally after that. You know how many end zone dances or stupid acts Ronnie Lott had in his career? None. He let his play on the field speak, not some goof off orchestrated after the fact amatuer minute.
