    sportsbook idea
i had this idea in my head, wanna know what you guys think.

a sportsbook where you play for points not money, this way its not gambling, its just fun points, and would allow anyone to play from any country.

the catch is, a third party website/company, where you can buy and sell these points, from the website/company or piers for your currency.

example, lets say you win 100-euro-points(or any currency you converted at first)
then you would transfer these points from the book to the point exchange website where you can transfer them for currency

the sportsbook would take points for out-transfers, and would be able to convert all points clients lose the same way.

actualy i got the idea from some show i was watching on tlc, i think it was in china where gambling is illegal, but they are allowed to play these slots, but people who win get tockens that can be used to buy novelties, toys and gifts, like in dave&buster, but people also take these tockens outside and to a third party where the tockens are traded for cash, they say its a multimillion dollar operation, and even though gambling is illegal the government cannot stop a third party from giving you money for your tockens

Can you say "V-chips, EFS and Sportsbook.com"?

It's been done, and it didn't keep the Feds off their ass one bit. Nice try, though.

Well that's kinda what he is talking about...

I think it was Cascade last year that had TWO sites doing more of what he is saying... One site had points and when you wanted to cash out you would transfer your points over to a cash account and vice versa... I am almost sure it was Cascade... I posted about it but too lazy to look back... This was in Feb..

The problem is that they can't play in without buying the points, making the points a form of currency. There would need to be some product you can buy that works in different industries.

It existed in Second Life until last week. You could go into their online economy and buy Lindens(?). One Linden = a buck. Once in there you could bet with casinos or buy real estate. The problem with that, and any other product that is successful without gambling, is they don't want to risk the whole business for gambling.

The closest thing out there now may be Egold?
