M.Vick, rolling the dice, pleads not guilty

Can you really blame him for pleading not guilty though. Why not take your chances when you have the best lawyers money can buy in order to get you out of this.

Thing is dan, when these guys come for you, 9 out of 10 times they have they goods.

Who knows what the prosecutor has. Video, pictures, a witness or two......maybe something forensic.

Vick will have to replay this in his head, ask himself what the prosecutor has. Just like anyone would. I think he pleads this out.

Agreed. Today was a bluff. Did you see the PETA protestors? Some of those women are nasty hot.

What's the alternative? I'm guessing he'd still do time if he did plead guilty. Hell, I'd plead not guilty with a court appointed attorney....

No way. If the prosecutor has a photo of Vick with like a dead dog or something of that nature....even the dumbest jury in the world has to convict you. Then you do some time.

If he pleads it out, who knows, maybe a year or less in the clink. Prosecutor gets a trophy, Vick gets to maybe play football once more and not retire behind bars.

Well by pleading guilty, he'd also assure himself of a pretty hefty league suspension I'm guessing. I would assume either way his future would be jeapordized. At least by pleading not guilty, he still has some hope of returning to the league perhaps as soon as this year.

I don't belame vick for pleading not guilty right now. This gives his lawyers a chance to review the evidence against him and then give him the proper legal advice. There is this little thing called disclosure. The defense gets to see what they have against their client and can then plan a defense (or plea bargain) based on it.

My guess is the defense hasn't had enough time to review the evidence yet. I say vick does time after pleading guilty. His NFL suspension will be co ordinated with his jail time so he won't miss a beat. It's not the National Felons League for nothing.

Yeah, pleading not guilty was a no-brainer. But I don't think Vick hired Billy Martin to plead guilty. He could have pled guilty with a court appointed attorney.

Now, I guess it's possible that after seeing what the Feds have got on him that Martin would want to cut a deal for Vick. The problem for Vick is that I don't think the Feds are going to be looking to cut a deal with HIM.

They may cut a deal with one or more of Vick's co-defendants, but they're looking to nail Vick's @ss to the wall because he's the most well known, has the highest profile, etc. Putting away three guys that nobody has ever heard of doesn't get the same sizzle as puttig away Mike Vick.
