Can someome explain matchbook to me?
I've never seen a sportsbook like this before...I'm reading and its telling me I can change the odds of a game? Once someone accepts my changed odds then I get those odds? Also I read something that says like if I wanna bet more then I have in my balance I can do that? Like if I wanna throw $500 on a given team but I only have a balance of 100, I can throw the 100 down on a side and on the opposite side there will be an option for someone to make a bet for the other $400 and if they do that I will then have $500 on the side I want? I don't really get this...can someone please explain to me how this works. I understand the spot where I can change the odds in my favor I just need someone on the other end to accept those odds and then place a bet on the opposite team. I get that I cant like change the Yankees line originally at like a -250 to a +250 cause obviously no one would ever accept the opposite end of that. I don't get how I can bet more money then I have and just need someone else to accept the remaining amount of money on the opposite side.

You can't bet more than you have in your balance. If you have action on a live game, you can take the other side at favorable odds to you (even if you have a "0" balance). You are in effect selling some of your stake on the original side, so its not like you are betting money you don't have, you are just selling your stake on one side and buying stake in the other team. Thats what they mean by that.

Example: You take the Royals (playing the yankees) at +200 before the game (its going to be a live game with betting during the game). You have $100 in your account and bet it all on the Royals. You now have a 0 balance. However if the Royals take the lead and the yankee odds change to +200, you can buy the yankees with some of your money originally on the Royals.

Any reason why Matchbook is a competition to Betfair?
