Bodog "ooops"...looking for a book? read here
This morning on bodog while perusing the baseball lines i noticed the Indians money line was -220, yet they were +1' (-115) for the run line. Obviously, I loaded up....an hour later, I get an email from bodog that says my wager was cancelled.

This is pathetic...to be able to officially post lines for the public and then say "ooops, no wager" is ridiculous. Basically, they have a way out of any wager that is placed.

Bodog is slowly going downhill...no more bonus, only selected o/u for college FB, no puck lines for hockey heads like me, and now this.... my recommendation if you are looking for an online book? not bodog!!

All books have an escape clause saying if it's obviously a bad line they can go. I had Betroyal pull that with me and then I checked the line and it was better than the line they pulled, I got on the live chat and asked if the line was now good, they said yes and I re loaded.

          Not even a discussion.

Obviously a bad line. Standard procedure.

            First off welcome to SBR.

You should report the bad line to the book, not try to take a shot at them.

What!?!?!?!? People are actually chastising someone for trying to take advantage of a bad line. Nothing personal but if I see an obviously bad line I'm loading up. If the site catches it, that's fine. But if not Bingo... Let me put it this way if you make a typo and accidently confirm the wrong bet... there isn't a book that will void it for you. You're a bonehead and have to take your chances. If they don't catch something by game time. Oh well it's on them.

Actually I've had lots of books void wrong bets I've made over the years, as long as the market hasn't moved

                          swizzles,

Betting obviously bad lines is an easy way to get BANNED from a book, especially if you do it a second or third time. You are better off reporting a bad line to the book immediately, as sometimes they will reward you with a few bucks or a free play.

Actually you are potentially putting yourself in a 'Lose/Lose' situation by hitting obvious bad lines like this.

Some lower tier books will wait for the result & if your bet is a 'winner' they will void it, but if it loses keep your cash

I have also accidently betted the wrong team in the past & in all cases the book has let me void as long as there have been no line movement

Stringer, consider you are lucky that Bodog cancels the wager before the game, not after your bet has won. More and more books are taking a free shot at players recently.

Voiding error lines is standard industry practice, and rightly so. Has been as long as I've been alive.

LG hit the nail right on the head also swizzles. A lot of books will go on and grade the bad line that was bet as a loss should it not come through, and grade it "no action" if it goes on to win. There is virtually no good that can come from betting a bad line.

If it makes you feel any better Stringer you wouldn't have gotten paid from BoDog any time in this century anyways. They've made customer service, satisfaction, and timely withdrawals such a low priority that they're running more and more people completely out of the industry by the day....

That's exactly right wrongturn. I don't agree with doing it, but by trying to pull a fast one you actually are providing the books with a freeroll opportunity against you.

I've actually felt for quite sometime that some lesser books might purposely set bad lines for this very reason. There was one in particular that was infamous for almost always posting bad halftime lines on primetime games, and would of course grade losers as losses and winners as pushes. Of course the next day the forums would buzz.

Ok thanks for the advice. You make a real good point. Just stinks that you can't cash in when they mess up. Cause I definitely took a serious hit a few years back when I accidently clicked the wrong wager and the site refused to void it before game time.

Not unusual for a book to cancel a wrong wager if you ask them, as long as the line hasn't changed. Or the book may tell you to bet the other side. No reason to lose more than the juice.
