If ever you wanted to torture yourself by attempting to make money with the Yankees then now is the time. This team has just about every fundamental factor pointing to 50 wins in the second half, and they lost enough in the first half for even the most masochistic of bettors to jump ship and give them some value.

As Razz pointed out, the key to the Yankees is less innings for their bullpen and NY's rotation is poised to make that happen coming out of the break rested and understanding the task ahead of them. Sure it's easy to say that any team is going to be better if their bullpen is worked less, but the fundamental strength of a rested bullpen for the Yankees is overwhelming. When is the last time you saw a team that was under .500 having +70 runs scored? Obviously they are losing close games and winning in blowouts. Their run differential is 4th best in the league. Eventually that will translate to a better record. If their bullpen gets rest then they will start to win some close games and pressure the Indians and Angels for the wildcard.

Play the Yankees a lot in the 2nd half selectively and you will make money. I have no doubt.

Their rotation and their bullpen needs more than rest. They need to turn the clock back about 10 years....
