Yes, it's going that way. As a lazy journalist, I take offense to the other part of your statement though.

Man, I wish I hadn't clicked this thread and read. One of my pet peeves is the dolts and wannabeez they have on there.

One of the worst is a guy named Doug Gottlieb. He was originally recruited by Notre Dame to play basketball for them. They realized he was no good and then he got in some minor legal troubles and they let him go.

He ends up catching on at Ohlahoma State and Eddie Sutton decides to make him his point guard. This guy was so bad that people in the state were wondering if he had some pictures of Eddie drunk with some midgets in Vegas.

You have heard of the "pass first" point guard--well ole Doug was the "pass first and pass second" point guard. He was such a terrible shooter that the big 12 teams would just back up and start screaming at him to shoot. The TV or radio announcers calling the game would say "Bob, what are they yelling at him?" and the analyst would say "Well, Tim, they are yelling at him to 'shoot'!!"

He could make layups and that was it. Once it was discovered that his free throw ability was seriously below Shaq's, if the other team was behind--they would start fouling him with 5 minutes to go in the game.

You have heard of the "deer in the headlights look"--this guy had it whenever he looked at the rim from more than 5feet. You know how the other team's fans try to distract the opposite teams free throw shooter? Well this didn't happen when Doug toed the line. The opposing fans would get quiet--they didn't want Doug to lose his concentration and accidently make one.

In his final season at OSU, Eddie Sutton was reduced to sitting his starting point guard the final 5 minutes of every game.

No hyperbole in this boys--this is how low ESPN has sunk. Hiring a guy like Gottlieb. A guy who couldn't start for your local Y team--explaining the finer points of basketball to you.

      OK, I feel a little better--Happy 4th!!!

I had to bump this after watching that moron Gottlieb come on again on ESPN this afternoon. I guess amongst that lame ESPN crew he must pass for a stud.

what was meant is that "whos now" is a lazy way to fill time instead of going out and doing real research and uncovering interesting stories
