    Magic Number?
In your experiences....what is the magic number for the Big Sportsbooks(such as 5dimes, Betjam, Matchbook, Bestlineetc...) to say..."seeya" after winning at their books? I have been playin at several for a while now, but was wondering when to expect to start getting the boot. How much can you win over say...a year or two till they say enough is enough? I have never deposited more than a thousand dollars at any one book.

    Feedback please...

There is no magic number por se, but let's take them one by one:

Matchbook - This is a person-to-person exchange, so you could win as much as you want with no worries. You could be up $9,000,000 and Matchbook would pay you with a smile, because of all the fees they collected along the way.

5 Dimes - It depends on how you accumulated your fortune. If you get your plays in early and win because you are an excellent handicapper, chances are they will leave you alone. If you are a constant steam-chaser, you will be shown the door very quickly, although they will pay you what you are owed.

BetJamaica - Although they will not flat out ban you, if you win too much you will be put on an almost unbearable delay. Then if you comlain about it, they will refer you to The Greek (imagine that!).

I can't help you with Bestline, as they were just recently upgraded and I have never used them. Sorry.

Steam-chasing is seeing a huge line move at the top tier books, and then quickly getting a bet down at the old number at a slower-to-move book. I have seen 5 Dimes move their lines as much as 15 minutes after Pinnacle/CRIS/Greek moves in the past, and they do not appreciate the big action they receive in the interim. Why they are so slow to move is another story.

i think the reason behind the slow line change is that when a big book line move, it could be that some whale bet a shit load of money on one side. 5dimes thinks that the line will move back...that is usually the case. i see this at pinnacle all the time, especailly for some small soccer events. line owuld move 10-20 or even 30 points then move back to its orginal after 40 minutes. sometimes, it is the whole industry's line are moving, so that is when 5dimes get stuck with steam chaser's bets.

            that is two cents

I was banned from betting over the internet with Olympic for steam chasing. I lost 6000 in 6 bets, won one bet and then they canned me. Oh well at least they still payed me.

the greek has very bad odds, imo. the only reason people use them is they never screw over people with cashing out...at least i never heard any complaints. but they're pretty good with interbook tranfers. no fee, way better than wsex. plus they take a lot of different currencies...not as much as pinnacle, but good enough for a backup book.

So you ended up losing and they still kicked you out? That doesn't make sense.
