    Trial Lawyers
Just wanted to let all of the Americans on this board know that we pay on average of $3500 more per year because of trial lawyers and their attacks on businesses in this country. Can you believe that? Multiply that by 2/3 of the population in this country and you can tell how much these scumbags are raping the system for.

Tort reform is badly needed in this country.

I would comment but choose not to just in case I get sued.

LMFAO. Good one Mark. I am not a lawyer so you are safe there!

Curious to see if anyone here has ever won a lawsuit and if so what was the suit for?

Law suits are the common man's last remaining hope for remedy in the US.

Maybe if corporations weren't doing so many scummy things they wouldn't get sued so much.

I've dealt with a lot of lawyers. Plaintiff's lawyers take cases on contigencies. They only make money if the client makes money. I have no problem with that.

Too bad defense lawyers and criminal lawyers don't offer the same payment option where you only pay if they win.

Can't agree with you. There are a lot of ambulance chasing scumbags out there. I have one that works in the same building I do and you have to see his clients. Most of them look like they just crawled out of a trash can. Trial lawyers are destroying the insurance and healthcare industries in America!

What does what they look like have to do with whether or not they have valid claims?

Let me get my violin and shed a tear for the poor insurance and healthcare industries. They really seem like they are hurting.

If plaintiffs don't have legitimate claims, don't pay on them.

Plaintiff's lawyers interests are aligned with their clients. Defense lawyer's interests are often against their clients. Defense lawyers are usually on the clock and the longer the case goes on, the better it is for them.

Looks = character. I was the victim of one of these lawsuits after a low speed car accident that was deemed my fault. The people in the car were fine until 3 weeks after when they realized they could fake injuries and get easy money. Go see Dr. Feelgood and tell him your back hurts. The lawyer asked for $75,000 and got only $3,000. That shows you right there what a weak case they had.

My father, a CEO for a large healthcare company, set aside $3 millon for a lawsuit? Guess what? The plaintiff was videotaped doing something she wasn't supposed to be able to do. Judge threw the case out in 5 minutes and guess what? His company had to eat the $250K in legal fees. Low class, scumbag minorities are destroying this country and making trial lawyers rich on MY DIME!

Most trial lawyers are idiot savants!

I went out with a woman a bit younger than me that was a trial lawyer but was cutting her teeth being a public defender for a couple years just out of law school. She was book smart in certain areas and dumb as a rock in common sense and sort of had blinders on without ever looking at all the variables in situations.

We lived a little distance apart so we would talk on the phone and online quite a bit and she would tell me that she was not going anywhere for the day because the Facts of Life marathon was on t.v.land that day.If you were a poor schmuck that was accused of something you didn't do and couldn't afford a high priced lawyer would you want a public defender that could sit in front of the t.v.watching The Facts of Life all day?At least it could have been a Perry Mason or Mattlock marathon.hehe!

Then she called me one night all scared because the tires on her Bronco were slashed. It was probably the guy who's case she was on and lost while the Facts of Life marathon was taking her attention away from the case.hehe!
