Will Scooter Libby be pardoned by President Bush on or before the last day of his presidential term (1/20/09)?

    Yes -120

    No -110

Thats as sure of a YES bet as there ever will be. That line should be YES -1500

    No Way!

There is no precedence for a 2-term president leaving office and quietly pardoning several criminals in the final days of their administration.

Damn, Bill was awfully busy on his last day. Even had time to pardon his brother. Working all the way to the end.

He's a fall guy, 1,000% chance he is pardoned.

The risk here is that he will die or the case will be overturned on appeal. Even id he is released early he will still be pardoned. He is a company guy.

Pardon is a 2-1 favorite at InTrade. Not exactly a lock.

I would say yes....remember, Libby can tell all so they have to keep him happy. You'll see him pardoned for sure. Anyway, this is the Bush administration......they take care of fellow neocons.

Think the bet is a parlay: Scooter gets Pardon and you get paid. Seems to me it is a fair price for -120.

Bush has nothing to lose by pardoning Scooter. He's going to go down as one of the most un-popular presidents since Carter no matter what he does with Libby. He may as well save a couple of his pals from prison

This isn't the lock we all thought it is. Apparently, its a little more complicated...

If that's still the old Tradesports crowd I wouldn't bet against them on political issues. Very accurate in that field.

No pardon, but no jail it seems.

US President George W Bush has intervened to prevent Lewis Libby, a convicted former vice-presidential aide, from serving a prison term.

President Bush described as "excessive" the 30-month prison sentence Libby was facing for having obstructed an inquiry into the leaking of a CIA agent's name.

Though no longer required to go to jail, Libby is still due to serve a period of probation and pay a fine.

An appeals court had earlier told Libby he could no longer delay going to jail.

The judge ruled that Libby could not remain free on bail while his lawyer appealed against the sentence.

President Bush said he had until now refrained from intervening in the case, waiting instead for the appeals process to take its course.

"But with the denial of bail being upheld and incarceration imminent, I believe it is now important to react to that decision," he said
