Back when Moby Dick was a minnow I use to somehow find deals where I'd get like $200 in funny money chips a room and air fare for a dirt cheap price. The only hook was I had to gamble in the casino I stayed in for 8 hours.

I've looked all over and I cant find these. Anyone?

Unfortunately, Vegas isn't about the gambling anymore.

If you play poker, most resorts with a casino will give you a nice rate on a room if you commit to around 5 hours of poker a day.

Usually just call the poker room and ask for the deal. You might get the room 50 pct off or so and earn enough comps to buy for lunch.

I heard now of days they only give out the good stuff to those they already know have spent money at their casino, through those players cards.

Vegas is one of the most expensive places to go now, all the suckers go there. Vegas is dirty also and a bad City.

AC is the place to go or Mohegan Sun,

John, unless you are a "Player's Club" member at one of the major hotels, I believe the best way to get Vegas packages is to compare them at the major travel websites, ie expedia, travelocity, orbitz, hotwire, cheaptickets. Vegas.com is another one.

I googled "Vegas Vacation Packages" and a ton of stuff came up.

Also, if you stay at one of the Harrah's properties (Caesar's Palace, Paris, Rio, Bally's etc), and you sign up for a "Total Rewards" card, they usually take care of you if you gamble for 8 hrs a day which you've said you've done before. After 3 days of that much gambling at decent stakes, they'll send you all kinds of offers in the mail for free stays after that.

You'll have more offers than you'll know what to do with.

I like to get those deals where they give you 100 to 200 in cover chips. I checked a lot of those sites grid but I dont see any that give some free loot.

free cash doesn't exist anymore... now it's just comps (room, food, and other hotel services) based on the amount you already gambled.

                      Bob Supak's Vegas World.

I look at a Vegas vacation as a way to chisel the casinos of every freebie promotion available right down to taking towels back home.I am a bonus promotion coupon abuser of the first degree and will play 100 match plays in a day.If I have a coupon for a free shirt from a sportsbook where you have to make a $10 bet that's where I will do it.I get free drinks and order Heinies where is at home if I buy beer I buy the cheapest bulk volume moose piss available.I'm like a snake and will get a half price buffet coupon and eat a huge breakfat that will stick with me till night and then I'll buy snacks-fast food with coupon discounts.

Stupak's Vegas World was the greatest place to take advantage of the house. That place was so cheesey and sleazy and unorganized but it was a real hoot.I miss places like that in the old Vegas.

I get the casino guide every year and you get allot of great coupons for Vegas in that where you get 2 nights for the price of 1 at dives like the El Cortez etc.I average paying about $17 bucks a night for a week of lodging.

Laughlin is great too and you can average about $17 a night with a buffet added during some winters and it's allot more laid back, cleaner and warmer than Vegas in the winter.

                        thanks

My wife and I played $25 blackjack ($50 per hand between us) for maybe 15 total hrs over 3 days, with individual Player's Club cards on the same joint account. We ended up ahead about $200 total but they don't monitor that -- they only watch how many hrs you play.

We had a good rate on a room at Stratosphere but gambled at Caesar's. We got a few buffets out of the play, but when we returned home, a few weeks later we started receiving offers to different Harrah's properties in Nevada and California.

                        Hope this helps.
