I'm hoping the Mavs win tonight and stave off elimination. Anybody who has been watching Inside the NBA on TNT knows Charles has been lobbying hard for the Mavericks. I would surmise he has up to 100k on Dallas to win the series. Everyone knows Charles lost last night when Phoenix failed to cover. You know Vegas is in Charles' Five.

Haha, I was just talking about this with a friend of mine. I'd say it's a five digit number, but it could be more.

I would guess it is more in the $500k+ range.

Having played blackjack with Chuck and watching him lose $250,000 in half an hour and tip the dealer $50,000 I have to think on a sure win series at -1500 or whatever, he had to lay at least a million.

Did Charles actually say he had an online wager on the Mavericks? Or are you guys just making that up from his words?

I'm guessing they are assuming it based of his reaction during the pre and post game show... He's admitted to picking Dallas to win the series but never mentioned having a bet on it but knowing his RECENT past and likely present with sports gambling I would say it's a good assumption that he has a futures on Dallas and assuming the amount is 500K and upwards is probably a good assumption too although it's not likely this will be confirmed... Watching his reaction and listening to his comments will be interesting no doubt about it... You can tell he's pissed he's hating on the cities and wants D. Wade to keep the money coming...

F*ck being his dealer I want to be his bookie....

It's a pretty same bet to assume he's been betting Dallas. He is after an admitted compulsive gambler that's worth a fortune.

I'm not sure where you could get down though on a series for 500k and i doubt he bet that much on one series.

Barkley could get down for that kind of money at any place he plays in Vegas.

While they won't take that kind of money from anyone, when you've lost upwards of $10,000,000 at table games (which prob really means $20,000,000) your casino will happily take a 1 or 2 million dollar sports bet...

I met Chuck at Mandalay Bay. Also seen him dancing at Atlantis. I'm not sure where else he plays, but I am sure either would happily let him lay that kind of chalk on the series.... Even if he won with $1.5million out there, he wins $100,000 and you know there is a damn good chance he'll lose up to the $1.5million picking it up.

Kenny Smith was really getting to him about it too.

Last year before Game 7 of the Lakers-Suns series, he came on the air and picked the Lakers to win straight up, so I assume he took the +5 or the ML that day.

Me and several friends bet on Phoenix LARGE -5 that day, and we laughed out loud at the local sports bar PRE-game. We questioned how he could take a road team in Game 7 when he was only catching 5 pts. ML was a worst bet.

Of course, the Suns smashed the Lakers that day, which for us and many others was FOREsight, not hindsight.

Barkley has proven time and time again that he's a square. The only good bet I've heard about him making was New England +14.5 vs. the Rams in the SB in 2002. Then again, most of us were on New England that day.

I wish I had the kind of money that Barkley has to bet -- could actually make some crazy good money doing this as most of us here could.

Like he said in the pre-game show. I guess Chuck can look on the brightside of things. At least he can go to Vegas and watch that Mayweather/de la Hoya Fight, instead of sitting in the studio with those two losers Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson.

Justbet, that may be the case but I distinctly remember him saying during the pre-game show that he felt the Lakers would win.

Even if they would have won Game 7, picking the road team to win straight up was just not very wise, esp after the Lakers blew a 3-1 lead and the momentum was clearly, I mean clearly, on Phoenix's side.

As a Laker fan, I knew they were done... and I cashed in big.
