#4guy no one would work if they could pick games
they will take you broke, they would not sell picks if the stuff was good
Here is how you shut a tout up, when they call all you say is "fukkin scumbag why do you not just bet these games yourself instead of begging me to play it" They will hang up on you.Comment -

#6Watch "Two for the Money..." That movie is realistic on how those pay services work. The best cappers never sell their picks. They'd rather bet their picks.Comment -

#7As far as a service for football or basketball they are a complete scam. But it is funny you mention their horse racing package. My buddy , who is a bookie with a lot of money has been getting a package the last 3 years where they give him picks on each of the Triple Crown races. They also give him a few horses on a couple of the other races that are going on that day. Surprisingly they have done very well all 3 years. I think he pays $150 for those 3 days of racing.Comment -

Let's say team A wins.
The next night, you call those 50 people and tell them: "see, we are good at this, we can give you the winner tonight between team B and team C". So you give 25 people team B and the other 25 team C.
The third night, there are 25 people who could have gone 3-0 if they would have taken their advice. And that's how the game is played. Save your money.
Although I'm curious, did their pick win?Comment -

#9Is this the group out of Florida? They've had problems with the law for claiming to know about fixed games. I believe they were also steering customers to Milenium or some place like that. You can probably google the details.Comment -

#10What's the difference between selling your picks and giving them away for free on a message board? I'm not going to unanimously say that all tout services are bad. I'm sure there are some good ones out there that do a better job than us punters. It takes a lot of time and energy watching games, analyzing stats and making picks. It would be so much easier just to pay someone a nominal fee for regular winners.Comment -

#15Mavs, I was with ATS for about 2 1/2 yrs, ending last football season. I didn't do horses with them, but I played most of their other sports.
In brief, I will just say that they are not liars, but spinners at the the very best.
For example, in every sport they never say exactly how many units they are up or down for the season, but they say something like "we've won 6 of the last 9 weeks". They don't count the juice in football or basketball, so an 11-10 week is a winner to them, while a 7-14 week simply counts as a loser.
They spend a ton of $ on a very well represented marketing package.
I did well with them the first two seasons in football, but it was primarily due to their lock games, which went something like 14-1. Their lock games are usually 12-20 units, while most regular plays are 3-7 units. All their other plays were probably around 50%. Last year they failed to come through on their locks and I won't be back with them.
I still get their weekly newsletter and, concerning horses, they always tout their big winners - trifectas and exactas. Those winners are impressive, but I always wonder about how many losers they gave out. I know they give a lot of plays.Comment -
