My guess is Jackson with Verlander on Friday in Game 2, assuming they hold on to this lead. A lot of baseball still to be played here.

It doesn't matter who pitches for the Tigers in that game. There'll be 2 sure outcomes:

            Tigers +0.5 FF
            Yankees RL.

              Jackson
              Verlander
              Porcello
              Jackson
              Verlander

              for Detroit, if they win.

              For the Yankees:

              Sabathia
              Burnett (with Molina catching)
              Pettitte
              Sabathia
              Burnett (with Molina catching)

Game 1 is tomorrow at 6 PM EDT at Yankees Stadium, I believe.

Oh hell, that's a good question, will see what I can find out. Though they didn't start, I can think of Orel Hershiser (1988) and Randy Johnson (2001) who made a start one day and then came right back and pitched in relief the very next day, both in the World Series. I think Gibson made two WS starts with just two days of rest between the games back in either '64 or '67, but will see if I can find an answer to your question.
