This is an old one. Interesting nevertheless:
A person has just won a prize on a game show. He's allowed to select one of two identical boxes and will win whatever's inside. He's told that both boxes contain cash, but that one box contains twice as much cash as the other.
He opens a box, and discovers it contains $9,000. He is given the opportunity to pay $1,000 and switch boxes (this same option would exist no matter what was in the box). Should he do so?
